2. SYNTHETIC DRUGS
Synthetic drug are chemical substances produce artificially in a
laboratory.
Synthetic drug could be addictive and pose a serious threat on
health of everyday individual.
They can be produced commercially by drug manufacturers for
valid medical purposes and are diverted from legal channels or
produced illegally in clandestine laboratories for illicit markets
worldwide.
3. DISADVANTAGE OF SYNTHETIC DRUGS
Can be produce side effect.
High economic.
Manually prepared in laboratory.
Can be produce major side effect like heart failure,
chest pain , kidney failure.
Highly skilled person are required .
Prepared by chemical compounds with many
functional group .
5. HERBAL MEDICINE
Herbal medicine is also called botanical medicine or
phytomedicine.
Herbalism is a traditional medicinal or folk medicine practice
based on use of –
A plant’s seeds,
Berries or flowers,
And extracts for medicinal purpose.
6. It takes its name from the word used in the other part of
the europe, where plant based medicines continue to be
provided by docters and pharmacists as phytomedicine.
Phytomedicine can be defined as the herbal medicine
with therapeutic and healing properties. It came into
existence since the advent of human civilization.
Phytotherapy is the practice of using medicines
derived from plants or herbs to treat or prevent
health conditions.
phytotherapies still need more research to
determine their effectiveness and potential side
effects.
9. SPECIFIC PARTS OF PLANTS

10. LIMITATION OF HERBAL MEDICINE
Non suitable for many disease.
Lack of doses instructions.
Longer duration of treatment.
Position risk associated with wild herbs.
Lack of regulation.
12. CHEMICAL TESTING OF
PHYTOCONSTITUENTS
Tests for alkaloids
Dragendorff ’s test

Flouroscence test
Solubility test
Melting point
Chromatography
Thin layer chromatography
Paper chromatography
Spectroscopy
UV and IR Spectroscopy
14. CONCLUSION
Concluding the whole project and practice works
I must be truly glad to say that I have learned a
lot from this.
Stated project on the practice school regarding
each and every analysis methods and procedures,
It includes different types of extraction process
with the modern techniques and
chromatography. It also include different types
of chemical tests which is required for analysis
of crude drugs.
