3. INTRODUCTION
When a computer is used as an aid in teaching, the
method of instruction is called as computer assisted
instructions. In implementing the principle of
programmed learning are used with an added
advantage that the response of the student are instantly
and permanently recorded by the computer. For CAI the
intended object is broken into small segments and fed
into the memory of the computer.

It is a simple programming language which can
be taught to children. by this children can make
up their own programme to draw flowers or
faces on generate design on the screen.

which enable the student to mount on

can be done by the computer.

10.  CAI provides the multidimensional learning
through words, graphics and problem solving
students.
 A computer can also work as an aid in the
independent study schemes based upon
reference level.
 The high storage capacity of a computer
allows many programes or many complete
courses at a time for students

11. LIMITATIONSOFCAI
 It lacks human and emotional factor which are
present in the normal classroom.
 Computers are very costly pieces of
equipment and beyond the reach of most
schools in our country.
 With excessive use of CAI, artistic component
of student takes a backseat.

12.  It produces more mental and physical fatigue.
 It do not help in developing the language
proficiency which depends more on direct
experiences with the reality.
 As a student can’t interact with computer in
human language, the use of punching keys
can become dull and frustrating.

13. INTERNET
 Internet is a short form of the technical term
internetwork, the result of interconnecting
computer networks with special gateways or
routers. The internet is also referred as the
Net.

14. ADVANTAGESOFINTERNET
 It allows greater flexibility in working hours and
location especially with the spread of
unmetered high speed connections.
 It can be accessed through by various means
like mobile phones, data cards etc.
 Educational material at all level is available on
the websites.

15.  The low cost and instantaneous sharing of
ideas, knowledge and skills has made
collaborative work dramatically easier.
 It allows computer users to remotely access
other computers and information stores easily
wherever they may be.
 The knowledge regarding various aspects can
be gained by anyone

Computer assisted learning is a method of
learning through computer. It is becoming
popular day by day in today’s world. It is
playing a vital role where there is a shortage of
teachers. But it hinders the creative aspect of
the students.
