TARGET AUDIENCE
 Who are they?
Teenagers aged 12- 17 year olds
 Horror films they tend to watch and why?
They watch horror films like Insidious, Sinister because they like
being scared and enjoy watching it
GENRE / SUB-GENRE
CONVENTIONS I WILL USE
 - Generally, in a psychological horror film the killer tends to appear
normal: there aren’t any physical signs that would make them appear as a
killer.
 - Common settings for psychological horror are as follows: big houses,
woodland locations, warehouses, schools and hospitals.
 Another common convention of psychological horror films is that there
tend to be flashbacks which inform the audience of why the killer has
reached such a state.
SYNOPSIS
 A school counsellor comes to see a girl who has problems. Counsellor
comes to see the girl and help her. The counsellor thinks that the girl has
psychological issues but she actually doesn’t and what the counsellor actually
finds is that she is trying to hide the fact that her friend is the one with issues.

 Two girls walking through the graveyard
 The other girl is following them home, something suspicious is
going wrong
NARRATIVE - CONFLICT
 One of the girl walking home dies
NARRATIVE RISING ACTION
 We hear screaming
 We hear footsteps running
NARRATIVE - CLIMAX
 The girl that was following them has counselling sessions.
 The counsellor finds out that the other girl killed her.
NARRATIVE - RESOLUTION
 Either the school counsellor dies leaving the quiet mentally
unstable
 Or both get killed by the girl with the psychological issues
NARRATIVE STRUCTURE
 Starts with a disequilibrium and enigma code
 Middle – disequilibrium
 End – disequilibrium
LOCATIONS
SCHOOLS
KILLER SHOTS
 Zooming out and walking forward at the same time
 Eye level
 Tracking and zooming in at the same time
EDITING SHOTS
 Flashback – black and white
 Jump cuts
 Continuity editing
 Shot reverse shot cutting
CLASSIFICATION (WHY?)
 12A – because our target audience is aged between 12 – 17 year
olds so we think the suitable classification would be 12A, as if we
would have chose a 15 classification the film wouldn’t be suitable for
under 15 year olds to watch, so we chose 12A for our classification.
 Moments from our film that match the classification we chose. –
our film doesn’t include any gory scenes or scenes that are too scary.
WHY IS THIS RIGHT FOR
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE?
 Our film is right for our target audience because most of them are
interested in psychological horror, this sub-genre is more of a realistic
horror sub-genre compared to the others. They can relate to it as it is
located in a school setting and the characters are similar age to our
target audience.
