This new Standard went into effect on February 19, 2019, and requires food manufacturers, importers, and other entities that label foods for retail sale to disclose information about bioengineered food and bioengineered food ingredients.

üWhen a food is bioengineered or contains a bioengineered ingredient
üWhen food is subject to labeling requirements of:
üFood, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA)
üFederal Meat Inspection Act, Poultry Product Inspection Act, or the Egg
Products Inspection Act only if:
üPredominant ingredient would be subject to FDCA; or
üPredominant ingredient is broth, stock water, or similar solution and
second-most predominant ingredient is subject to FDCA
