There are many areas to be caution about in radiation
exposure, either because they are hypersensitive OR/AND
because of high risk upon exposing them.

Lens of eye (fairly high sensitivity)
Thyroid gland
Lymph nodes (high sensitivity)
Bone marrow (high sensitivity)
Intestinal mucosa (high sensitivity)
Skin (fairly high sensitivity)
Abdomen

4. EFFECTS ON THE HEAD:
• Hair loss
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Extreme tiredness
(fatigue)
• Hearing loss
• Seizures :when the
function of electrical system
of the brain disturb

5. EFFECTS ON LENS OF EYE:
Cataract

6. EFFECTS ON THYROID GLAND:
• Thyroid dysfunction
• Thyrotoxicosis
• Thyroid carcinoma
• Cardiac disease

7. EFFECTS ON LYMPH NODES:
• Hodgkin's disease :type of lymphoma
• Inflammation.
• Circulatory disturbances (e.g. oxygenation).

8. EFFECTS ON BONE MARROW:
• Leukemia

9. EFFECTS ON INTESTINAL MUCOSA:
• Anorexia nervosa: a disorder marked by reduced appetite.
• Reduced mucosal blood flow

10. EFFECTS ON SKIN:
• Redness (esp. in children)
• Carcinoma eg. Melanoma

11. EFFECTS ON THE ABDOMEN:
Vomiting
Belly cramps
Diarrhea
↓ Fertility
↓ libido :reduction in sex drive.
