Teacher participants will (1) select a student who is struggling in reading (2) compile a student history on this student (this will entail obtaining approval to review the student's file (observe past report cards, possible IEPs, other reports, as well as interviewing parent(s)/guardian(s) and former teachers (3) assess student's reading ability utilizing formal and informal measurements (4) compile assessments into a written Literacy Analysis Report (5) develop an instructional plan to address the student's reading strengths and needs (6) implement the instructional plan (interventions) with the student in a 1:1 tutoring sessions (7) reassess the student’s reading performance after the instructional sessions (8) compile assessments and detailed description of each instructional method used during instruction, recommendations for school, and recommendations for home into an Instructional Report for an audience of the student reader’s family and teachers. 7.
