                                       Light It Up Blue – Austism Speaks
INSIDE THIS ISSUE                      Autism is a general term that is used to describe a complex group of
1   “Light   It Up Blue”               developmental brain disorders. It affects 1 in 110 children (1 in 70 boys),
                                       making it more common than childhood cancer, juvenile diabetes and

 Wings Chapel & Club Beyond Present:
 April is the Month of the Military Child. In recognition of this Wings
 Chapel and Club Beyond have joined together to sponsor a service on 27
 March at 0900 & 1100 Service to kickoff the month. Bestselling author of
 Castaway Kid, Rob Mitchell, was abandoned at age 3 and will share his
 story, as well as, do a book signing at the conclusion of the service. Also
 join us to learn how you can take an active role in a teen’s life and learn

                      BINGO – Disney Trip Give-a-way
 Come out to the Landing Zone and play some iPlay Bingo throughout the month of April for
 your chance to win a Walt Disney World Trip Prize Pack for two. Every time you load $25 or
 more on our iPlay Bingo handsets in the Landing Zone, you will be entered to win a Walt
 Disney World Trip. The winner will be drawn on the 1st of May at 10 a.m. in the Landing Zone.
 The Walt Disney World Prize pack will include 2 adult, 2-day base tickets to Walt Disney
 World and a 3-night stay at Country Inn & Suites Orlando Maingate with a standard Room or
 Suite. Prize pack does not include park hopping or admission to other gated attractions to
 include but not limited to Disney’s Water Parks or Downtown Disney. Park hopper passes may

Family Fun Run/Walk – in Recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month
In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, ACS is holding a Family Fun Run/Walk on
April 16th at 9:30am at the Fort Rucker Physical Fitness Facility. Pre-registration is from
March 1st - March 31st and costs $7. Late registration is $10 after March 31st. No registration
fee is required for infants or children age 18 months and younger in strollers. Participants may
register at the CYSS Parent Central Services, Child Development Center, Youth Center, both
Physical Fitness Facilities, and also by mail. Children 10 years of age and under must be
accompanied by an Adult. Participation Awards will be given to all registered participants age
16 and under. *Registration includes a T-Shirt while supplies last and $5.00 for the no T-Shirt
option. For additional information on Child Abuse Prevention Month activities, please call the
Family Advocacy Program at 255-3898.
