CodeRED – Reverse 911 system now at Rucker
Effective Thursday, 25 August 2011, the installation will deploy CodeRED, our newest
addition to the Emergency Mass Notification System at Fort Rucker. CodeRED is a
reverse 911 system that gives the Installation Operations Center (IOC) an additional
avenue to provide emergency information to our entire Fort Rucker community in an effort to provide warnings and
advisories to keep them safe. CodeRED enables the distribution of warnings and critical information concerning natural or
man-made disasters threatening the installation or the surrounding area in real time. This system automatically sends
National Weather Service warnings based on an individual’s home address as well as enabling the installation to send
critical information to Soldiers, families, civilians, contractors and retirees expeditiously.
The system requires individuals to enter their name and a phone number to which they want the alerts sent and their physical
address to receive tailored weather warnings and watches from the National Weather Service, specific watches/warnings for
Fort Rucker, and emergency notifications for the installation issued by the IOC.
To sign up for CodeRED, go to www.rucker.army.mil. In the left hand column select “CodeRED Notification System.”
