Alex is a quiet 17-year-old who enjoys academics, while her best friend Olivia is loud and rebellious, enjoying parties. Alex wears minimal white and black clothes representing purity, while Olivia wears red suggesting danger. Their town is terrorized by a silent killer wearing black who murders for fun with a large knife. Items needed for their short horror film include a torch as the main light source, a mask to hide the killer's identity, a kitchen knife as the weapon, and fake blood to suggest harm without real violence.

2. AlexSeventeen years old, very quiet and to herself . She
likes to engage with academic activities and prefers to
stray away from events such as school parties. This
contrasts greatly to her best friend, Olivia. Her
costume is very minimal. A white shirt paired with
black jeans. The white represents her purity. Her
name is unisex as that is a common final girl trait.
While she may not conquer the monster, she is still
the final character left alive.

3. OliviaThe very loud and bubbly, best friend of Alex.
Enjoys rebelling and going against the
‘system’. She is very carefree and does not
take into account dangers around her. She
enjoys partying and living life on the edge.
Her costume includes the colour red which is
used to signify danger, sexuality etc very
promiscuous.

4. The killerSilent, dangerous individual who hides his
identity with a white mask. Clothing includes
a black hoodie paired with black tracksuits
and black gloves. His weapon of choice is a
large knife. This killer has also killed people in
the past; he murders people for fun.

6. TorchWe need a torch as when the
lights are cut this will be the
main source of light for the
protagonist. While being her light
it will also be the main light for
the camera to see her with. If
used properly the light might
even play tricks and create
shadows which work well and
are a common symbol of
darkness and evil in horror films
e.g. Nosferatu’s shadow going up
the stairs.

7. MaskA mask will be essential as it hides the
killers identity by covering his face. We
chose to have a masked killer as no
emotion can be seen on the face which
makes it creepier as it shows no flinch of
remorse while killing and terrorising the
young girls. This is scary because humans
are creatures that feel emotions such as
guilt, sadness and anger and because
these are not present in the individual it
makes them seem even more
threatening. It makes them into a
borderline ‘other’.

8. KnifeA kitchen knife will be the main
weapon used as it is the type of knife
that we have most access too. The
shape and colouring of the knife also
carries a typical horror knife vibe
about them e.g. Michael Myers in
Halloween sports a similar style
looking knife. In order to heighten fear
we will have it covered in fake blood
after the death of

9. Fake bloodWe need fake blood to show that the
characters have been physically
harmed without actually harming
them in real life. This will mainly be
used on the characters Alex and Olivia
as those are the two characters being
attacked throughout the trailer. A lot
of the blood will be used on Olivia as
she dies out on the pavement as we
want to make it look as realistic as
possible and a neck wound would
bleed a lot.
