tCL Paris 2012 Agenda
1. Complexity
March 30th, 31st & April 1st 2012 Paris, France
Happy New Year Change Leaders!
By now we all are off and running with our 2012 goals, plans and client projects. The
Change Leaders are also ready for a robust 2012. We start the new year by inviting 107
members to Paris for our annual March cohort gathering. That’s right: 107 members.
The theme for our Paris meeting is COMPLEXITY.
The tCL organizing committee is completing the details but we want to provide you with as
much detail as we have today. We are pleased to announce that Margaret Wheatley will
join us this session. She is looking forward to working with our community and will spend
most of Saturday exploring Lost in Complexity.
But there is much more. We are offering three days of learning, connection and fun. We
will start on Friday, March 30th with a full day of Barry Oshry’s Power + Systems
http://www.powerandsystems.com/ delivered by Dennis Vergne and Ben Taylor. Oshry’s
work has stood the test of time. When Meg Wheatley learned that we would be working
with the P+S methodology she said “There is something about Barry’s Power + Systems
that translates in every culture.” Make plans to join us on Friday for this important work.
We are working with Jacob Mayne to put together another fun Friday night dinner
adventure in Paris. Plan to join Jacob’s adventure Friday evening.
After most of Saturday with Meg Wheatley, we will finish with another round of Pecha Kucha
http://www.pecha-kucha.org/what presentations. Our experience in Oxford last September
were so positive, we’ll do it again. We need 4 of you to take the dive and join the fun. The
theme is “Complexity” and the ground rules are the same: 20 ppt slides, no words, 20
seconds per slide. Let me know that you want to play and I will send you a bit more detail.
Roberto Seco will again be our host.
Saturday night will be our annual group dinner in Paris. John Freeman will be doing the
honors and organizing the location and the night. It is a highlight of our weekend and not to
be missed.
2. On Sunday morning we will spend time with Judith Campbell as she teaches us what she has
learned works when dealing with complexity in places like Iraq, North Korea and Somalia.
This will be a hands-on session seasoned from work on the rough edge of change.
Cecile Demailly will then provoke us to explore Prosperity Without Growth. It is a strange
new world we and our clients are navigating and Cecile will provide her unique
perspective and ideas on a future that may be short on growth but long on
prosperity. How so? She’ll explain.
A month ago Cyril Legrand initiated a tCL LinkedIn discussion by suggesting: “The
current economic, social, environmental and political challenges require groups such
as tCL to play a bigger role globally. We have so much to offer.”
His suggestion generated many responses from the community so we decided to
take it up as a point of dialogue. We recognize that this idea has been visited before
by tCL so Cyril will facilitate a focused discussion that includes specific limited
actions to be taken by members of the community.
John and Cyril are near to confirming our meeting location. Those details should be
completed this week and we can then send you the booking form so that you can
register to attend. It looks like we will be meeting near the Arc de Triomphe. Final
details will follow soon.
