Be. Persistent. = Go. Do. Through!
My motto for life is: "If you give Michael J. Maher an ounce of interest, he'll give you a ton of love." That's me and I
have to tell you, this philosophy of "Give. Massive. Value. First!" is an incredible strategy for lead conversion or
"helping someone educate themselves to the point where your solutions are the answer."
Go. Do. Through!
Go. Call, Call again, meet, e-mail, get on the phone, get in person. Take action! Go, go, go, go, go... I tried to call
them. I tried to get ahold of them. I tried to e-mail them... NO! Go with confidence! Go with persistence! Go like a
duck going after a Chee-to (trust me, it's intense). Do or no do, there is no TRY! (Yoda)
Do. Call until you REACH them! E-mail them UNTIL THEY CALL YOU! How can you not want to KNOW they won't
use you or they WILL use you? Leave a message that says, "With all due respect, you raised your hand and
requested some help. I'm here to help. I will call until I know I can help you or someone I know can help you. I want
you to achieve your goal or overcome your challenge. Let's talk today. I'm at (number). That's (number). If I don't
hear from you, I'll be calling between (your call-back times). Talk to you soon." I don't see how you can just sit there
and wonder. So don't! KNOWING is ALWAYS BETTER than WONDERING!
Through! you may get a wrong number, you may get a dial tone, you may not get ahold of someone for 3, 4, or 9
calls, you will ALWAYS have OBSTACLES... go THROUGH them! LOVE the obstacles! Welcome the obstacles,
challenges, and issues! Hug them, because OTHERS will GIVE UP at the obstacles! The only goal worth achieving
is the one with challenges! (<-- whoa, that's pretty good. May have to Facebook Status Update and Tweet that one
- thank you for inspiring me!). Go THROUGH the issues, challenges, and obstacles... until you KNOW and until you
have met with them.
That's what lead conversion leads to... an appointment. Nothing less, nothing more. If you are losing potential
clients at the appointment, then that is a WOW for another day. :) Most of you who are reading this are experts at
consultations so I know all you need is to get to the table. You're relationship-builders and helpers. They will see
that... it's getting them to the table.
So get them to the table. Invite them. There are a lot of great people out there who need your help, need your
services. The world needs you. The world needs your skills. The world needs your talents. The world really needs
your heart for caring for client. Go. Do. Through. Be. Persistent. It's worth it. The client's worth it. You're worth it.
Do It Now!
Last thought: Imagine your pet was lost and you knew this person KNEW where your pet was, how
persistent would you be in going after getting them on the phone or meeting with them? Okay, substitute
"child" for "pet" in the sentence above. Treat every lead like THAT! Get it?
