My topic : The purpose of my study will be to focus attention on how to help newly brought children (preschoolers) adapt to the new environment at the child care, given that the children have never been to such environments before.
a. Your research question(s)
· How will parents respond to the program and on the issue of leaving their child in an environment away from home? A brief overview of your intervention and how students will benefit
· How far will this program go in helping children adopt more quickly to new environments?
· What kind of staff is needed to ensure the efficiency of this program?
b. How you propose to implement it
· The implementation of this program will involve observing children who are put under the new program and having others who are not under the program. The ones who are not on the program will act as a control experiment because differences will be made regarding how quickly each group takes to adapt to a new environment in school. It is safe to conclude the implementation will take months of observation.
c. The ethical considerations you will address
· The ethical concern that may potentially present itself in this case is would be in relation to voluntary consent.
· The other concern pertains to the use of the information collected for the study. It is imperative that such information only be revealed to relevant parties and only used for the sole purposes disclosed to participants in the study.
d. How you plan on collecting data?
· Data will come from testing the children and assessments.
· These tests are very useful since they help to show a comparison of how a child adopts without the program and how much faster or slower they will adopt with the program that gauging effectiveness.
· Assessing the different child needs proves to be the best collection tool for this question since it helps to identify the positions that need to be filled and by what people so as to meet the needs of the preschoolers.

Briefly describe the population from which data will be collected from during future implementation of the action research study.
For the first video: Apology to survivors of the Tuskegee syphilis experiment, the population that was being used to collect the data was a population consisting of those who suffered from STIs and, in this case, it was particularly syphilis. They were subjects to collecting data if the subject syphilis treatment would work. In the next two videos: Feature film – The Stanford prison experiment (documentary) and Obedience to authority Stanley Milgram experiment the population being used are populations of the people who are subject to a certain authority.
Identify the potential ethical concerns associated with the topic you selected in Week One in collecting the type of data you plan to collect from this particular population.

Identify the potential ethical concerns associated with the topic
you selected in Week One in collecting the type of data you
plan to collect from this particular population.
The ethical concern that may potentially present itself in this
case is would be in relation to voluntary consent. My topic the
ways to help the newborns adapt to new environments;
acquiring consent voluntarily from the parents would be very
difficult because mothers are usually very protective of their
children. I would have to collaborate with a willing health care
facility to implement my program for all newborn babies
without necessarily informing the parents.
How will you address those ethical concerns when designing
your action research project around this topic?
To be able to resolve this dilemma, I would start up my
implementation with a deep education of the parents reassuring
them of the safety of the research and also ensure that the
research apparatus are all safe for all the babies whether
successful or not. Education would help reassure them of the
safety of their children (Sales & Folkman 2010).

The area that we are focusing on in this assignment is
helping newborns to be able to adapt to new environment and to
child care. To many families this has been a major issue
whereby after the birth of a child, they take too long to adapt to
the new environment. How long a child takes to adapt depends
the situation of the family and since many families have
working mothers the child may take longer since they spend
more time with another care provider who may not be well
informed (Spock 2005). My program is to build up a day care
wit well trained staff where mothers can leave them for work
and be assured that they are in safe hands with no fears
whatsoever.
Research Questions
Data Collection Tool
Why this tool? Justify its use in your study. How does it match
with what you are attempting to find and to measure?
How will parents respond to the program and on the issue of
leaving their child in an environment away from home?
Questionnaires
Questionnaires are appropriate for collecting this information
since it will enable me gets the views of various parents and
since it contains questions that are open ended, they can express
fully on how they feel about the issue enabling me to gain full
information.
How far will this program go in helping children adopt more
quickly to new environments?
Pretests and post-tests
6. These tests are very useful since they help to show a

What kind of staff is needed to ensure the efficiency of this
program?
Need assessment
Assessing the different child needs proves to be the best
collection tool for this question since it helps to identify the
positions that need to be filled and by what people so as to meet
the needs of the babies.

HELPING CHILDREN ADAPT TO CHILDCARE
ENVINMENT
Early Action Research
7. 1. Current Work Setting
a. Currently, I work in a childcare center with 2 and three-year-
olds. There’s always some form of training, usually initial and
annual training.
2. Potential Population Effected
a. My major duty at the childcare is to attend to the two to
three-year-old children and provision of general care.
3. Area of Focus
a. The purpose of my study will be to focus attention on how to
help newly brought children adapt to the new environment at the
child care, given that the children have never been to such
environments before.
4. Explanation of Problem
a. The problem that is prompting me to this study is the fact that
most, if not all children brought to this childcare and much
other childcare have difficulty adjusting to the new environment
(Line, 2008).
5. Define Variables
a. Those who will benefit from this study will mainly be the
caregivers at the childcare. They will also have an ample time
while attending to the children. The children themselves will
benefit for they will have peace of mind.
6. Research Questions
a. My wonder is mainly how it takes long for most children to
get used to the new environment in this and many other child
care centers? I would want to find a way of making the children
8. get to accept the environment as quickly as possible.
