was a Spanish painter
from Málaga
He loved painting and he painted very well.
When he was a little boy his 1st
word was “pencil”
3. His father, don José, was an Art teacher.
He showed him how to use oil painting.
When he was 9 years old he painted a
man on a horse in a bullfight
4. His father took him to Madrid to visit
the most important museum in Spain:
El Prado.
He liked paintings of Goya or Velazquez

5. He lived in A Coruña and Barcelona
where he studied Art.
He was a very good painter
6. He had a friend called Carlos. Pablo and Carlos
decided to go Paris. They lived there but they did not
have any money. He even burnt his painting because
he was very cold.
One day his friend Carlos died and Pablo started painting in blue colour
7. He started feeling happy and he painted in
bright colours again: pink, red...
8. He invented a new way of painting: CUBISM
He painted things from different angles

9. And he used the COLLAGE for the 1st
time.
COLLAGE is gluing pieces of paper or other materials
on a painting.
10. When he was in Paris he made a painting in black and white.
It was a painting on the Spanish Civil War
