Dear Sir or Madam:
I am writing in support of the visa request of Mr. Romeu Temporal to attend a meeting at
the U.S. Chamber of Commerce during the week of April 5-9, 2010.
Mr. Temporal is a close advisor to Mr. Walter Pinheiro, Secretary of Planning, who will be
visiting Washington, DC, to meet with U.S. companies that provide goods and services in
the area of public security.
The Brazil-U.S. Business Council, as the premier association of U.S. companies doing
business in or with Brazil, has offered to host the Secretary at the U.S. Chamber and to
ensure that he is able to reach these companies. This accomplishes both his aim of
strengthening the law enforcement capabilities of the State and provides excellent
opportunities for U.S. businesses.
Mr. Temporal has visited the U.S. numerous times, most recently in November where he
assisted the Secretary in a presentation on infrastructure opportunities in Bahia for U.S.
companies. He has also worked closely with the Brazil Council to foster a stronger link with
U.S. business for his state.
The Council feels that Mr. Temporal’s participation in this delegation is essential to its
success, and humbly requests that the consulate grant him a visa for that purpose.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at +1 (202) 463-5794 or
sbipes@uschamber.com.
Regards,
Steven Bipes
