2. The word export originated from a Latin word (exportāre). Ex- ‘out’ + portare ‘carry’. Means carry
out. An export is a function whereby goods produced in one country are shipped to another country
for future sale or trade
EXPORTING
Exporting is one way that businesses can rapidly expand
their potential market. Exporting is the marketing and
direct sales of domestically produced goods in another
country. Exporting is the most traditional and well
established form of operating foreign market.
3. Export and Economic growth
Exports play an important role in economy, influencing the level of economic growth, employment
and the balance of payments.
Employment: Growth in exports can create
employment.
Economic growth: Rising exports will help
increase AD and cause higher economic
growth.
Current account deficit: The strength of
exports has a large role in determining the
current account deficit.

11. Shipping & Transportation
The handling of transportation is similar for domestic orders and export orders
The export marks should be added to the standard information shown on a
domestic bill of lading
The exporter should also include instructions for the inland carrier to notify the
international freight forwarder by telephone on arrival
International shipments are increasingly being made on a through bill of lading
under a multimodal contract.
