Rudyard Kipling
Ahoy ye young scallywags. This is the biography of the author Rudyard Kipling.
He was an amazing author and here is his story. I will be explaining his life by first
telling you about his childhood then his writing career and then I will tell you about his
death. His life began all in one day.
The baby of Rudyard Kipling came from the womb of his mother, Alice
MacDonald and his father, John Lockwood Kipling. Kipling was born on 30 December
1865 in Bombay, India. Rudyard was sent to school in South Sea, England to live with
Captain Holloway and his wife. She ruled the boarding house with fire and brimstone and
Kipling was often beaten by her and her son. Kipling soon learned to read and found fun
in reading literature and poetry. He turned to the magazines and books that his parents
sent him.
Rudyard got his start by becoming a roving reporter traveling to various parts of
India and the United States. He wrote a bunch of essays, reviews and short stories like
“The Man Who Would Be King” and “Gunga Din.” In 1887, he met Professor Alec Hill
who would become a great friend and travel companion.
Rudyard Kipling died of a hemorrhage on January 18,1936 in London, and his
ashes are interred in the Poet’s Corner of Westminster Abbey, London, England near to
T. S. Eliot. I have told you a little bit about Rudyard Kipling like where he was born and
about his childhood and also his writing career but last but not least a little bit about his
death.
