Ephesians 2:1–10
Theme Statement of Book Believers have been unified in salvation by grace and are called to live
like Christ.
Main Idea of Passage At one point in time, everyone lived as a sinner. But God chose to save them
through grace. Believers should respond in good works.
Outline of Passage
I.We used to live in disobedience as slaves tosin and our flesh (v. 1–3).
II.But God restored us to himself through his love and mercy and saved us with his grace (v. 4–7).
III.Although we were not saved by works, we are called to respond to God by doing the works he

"The grandeur of the ancient city is evident in the remains uncovered by archaeologists, including
the ruins of the Artemision, the civic agora, the temple of Domitian, gymnasiums, public baths, a
theater with seating for 24,000, a library, and the commercial agora, as well as several streets and
private residences" (Holman, np). This was a big city, full of culture, and full of ungodly people
and activities. Among the many religious groups in the city, there were many Jews there who were
brought the gospel right after Pentecost (Orr, np). Because of the pluralism of religions in the city,
new Christians didn't know exactly what to believe or how to worship. On top of this, the city was
constantly bombarded with false teachers trying to tell people that salvation came from works, not
faith (MacArthur, np).
Paul visited Ephesus on his first missionary journey, on the way from Greece to Syria. After his third
missionary journey, he stayed there and pastored the Ephesian church for 3 years (Easton, np).
"Though Paul was not the first to bring Christianity to Ephesus, for Jews had long lived there, he
was the first to make progress against the worship of Diana" (Orr, np). Because of his strong ties to
the church, Paul cared deeply about the faith of the believers there (Macarthur, np).
The theme of his letter to the Ephesians is that believers have been unified in salvation by grace
and are called to live like Christ. Ephesians 2:1–8 focused mainly

Everything Wrong With School In 10 Minutes or Less!
When I was twelve, I had no appreciation for school. I saw it as nothing more as a glorified
daycare center with all the rules and regulations specifically designed to restrict as much fun as
possible. Then one day in the ninth grade, I had a revelation: what if school was actually meant to
build me up with knowledge and facts and not just waste my time? This was the foundation I
needed to get me through the next four years. Whenever I was bored, I would remind myself that I
'd never have a "free" education like this again. I adapted particularly well to this system of tests,
quizzes, and science labs but I could never understand the hang up some people had with it. School
was basic and easy and all it seemed to require was consistency an+d proper scheduling. I looked at
people who couldn 't understand US History or Geometry and I thought they were dumb. It wasn 't
until much later with much more reflection that I came to conclude there 's a difference between
how you score on the SATs and how smart you actually are. Education isn 't necessarily a direct line
to becoming intelligent and knowledgeable; education is nothing more than an institution designed
to equip people with subsets of specialized processing methodologies, algorithms, and a fair bit of
esoteric trivia. Furthermore, the current educational system in place is inefficient because of its rigid
nature.

How to Make Fruit Smoothies Essay
Ever wish there were a delicious smoothie somewhere to buy at an inexpensive price? Well there is,
and there is no need to go out! Read this section on how to make fruit smoothies and make a
scrumptious smoothie.
To make a good smoothie, the materials needed are: about Đ’Ń• cup of juice, or milk, about 2 cups of
fresh or frozen fruits, Đ’Đ… of yogurt, and finally, 6 cubes of ice if the fruits aren't frozen. A blender
that can crush ice well and that has a secure lid is also required. Unlike other recipes, a smoothie
recipe doesn't have to use exact measurements. To have a better tasting smoothie, use frozen fruits.
Freeze fresh fruits, or buy them pre–frozen. If the fruits are too big, cut them in half. Also, peel the
fruits before loading...show more content...
To make the smoothie healthier, include a scoop of whey or soy protein powder. For a sweet
smoothie, use pineapple juice for the liquid. Something creamy? Try milk. Try using different
flavored yogurts and combinations of fruits. Now that all the material is prepared, get cooking!
Gather all the ingredients and put them in the blender. To make things easier, put the fruits first, and
then the milk or the juice. The liquid will help the fruits melt a bit, making it easier to pure. Finally,
add the yogurt. When all the ingredients are in the blender, turn it on, using the liquefy or puree
setting. Depending on the blender, wait about 30 seconds and turn it off so that the fruits will be
mixed up well with the liquid and the yogurt. Make sure to put the cap on the blender and watch out
for the cutter! It hurts if you cut yourself on it.
When the ice cubes stop blending, turn off the blender and see if the smoothie is clear and if there
are no chunks of fruits inside. Get a spoon and move it around in the blender to check. If the
smoothie looks too thin add more fruits or ice and this should thicken it up. If it looks too thick, add
more liquid in it. Adding yogurt or a banana will thicken the smoothie, but don't add both unless
another watery fruit is used in the smoothie.
Once this step is finished, pour the cool concoction into a large glass. For maximum health benefit,
drink the smoothie straight away. If there is too much, then freeze the smoothie. A frozen

Expository Essay Rough Draft
Expository Essay: Rough Draft Everyone can feel, just like you and I, but there's one important
question that lingers through the air. Should we really be accepting of other people? To answer
the question, yes! Although this does speak from opinion, it's essential to be accepting of others.
It's understandable to find laboriousness when looking through others, but we need to remember
the reasons why it's imperative. To start off, we're all the same! We're all people, but sometimes,
we seem to overlook that part of us. We all process the same way, and I feel as if that's a good
enough reason to find acceptance. Something else to remember is that we all have emotions. When
we don't accept eachother for who we are, our emotions can get

How to Analyze an Expository Essay
Expository writing, in general, is present everywhere. When you pick up a magazine or examine a
newspaper article on the newsstand, you are reading a form of exposition because the author's
main purpose of writing that article or essay is to inform the reader about a topic. In the classroom,
many students are required to produce research papers about a specific topic, such as migration
patterns of birds. The purpose of that research paper is to inform the reader, the teacher, about what
are the migratory patterns of birds. Finally, at the workplace, many people are required to create
business reports and memorandums to inform their supervisors and co–workers about the company's
finances and progress. In order to analyze these expository...show more content...
"Good" directions for a process essay should satisfy the following criteria: clear, concise,
organized, and acknowledges common mistakes. Within the model essay itself, it satisfies all of
these requirements. The text describes, "when you find water becoming extremely hot (or
cold)," the homeowner suggests that the guest, "exit the tub promptly while using a sweeping
motion with one arm to push shower curtain aside"(Frazier 303). This piece of direction is clear
because it plainly informs the guest on the actual action they have to perform in order to prevent
hot or cold water from burning or freezing the guest. It is also concise because it does not include
any irrelevant information pertaining to avoiding burning or freezing the guest. This essay is
organized because when the author listed out his or her directions, he or she listed them out in
chronological order. Lastly, "How to Operate the Shower Curtain" acknowledges common
mistakes, such as "REMEMBER TO KEEP SHOWER CURTAIN INSIDE TUB AT ALL TIMES!"
(Frasier 303). The author is cautioning the guest to keep the shower curtain within the bath tub no
matter what. The reason for determining the kind of expository essay it is to help in determining
the purpose of the exposition as a whole. Next, the third step to analyzing an expository essay is to

The Importance Of Expository Reading
Expository text is a very important form of reading material that is used to present content in
different ways. Starting as early as kindergarten, children should be able to identify the main topic,
ask and answer questions, and describe connections between two different pieces of information
(Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Teachers have problems with studentsreading expository
text. It is sometimes more difficult to read than just regular story reading. Hebert, Bohaty, Nelson,
and Brown conducted a meta–analysis on text structure instruction, concluding that it was an
effective way to improve expository reading comprehension (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty,
2017).
Different strategies were developed to help with understanding expository reading comprehension.
Teachers play a big role in helping the students understand. They have to begin with clear learning
objectives that outlines the skills teachers want their students to demonstrate by the end of the
instruction (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Once the teacher decides on the learning
objective, they can plan specific instructional strategies to help students achieve the objectives. If
there is a clear goal from the teacher, things will be easier on the students. Identification strategies is
a good start in recognizing the structure of an expository text. There are two possible goals of
identification strategies: to recognize a single text structure or to discriminate among several

Expository Essay Vs Persuasive Writing
Even though expository essays and persuasive essays both have research and a thesis statement, they
are different in the way that expository explains while persuasive argues. The expository writer
provides clarifying information about a topic while the persuasive writer presents an argument. The
purpose of an expository essay is to explain to the reader your position without trying to get the
reader to choose your side. In a persuasive essay you write to persuade the reader to choose an
argument side. They are similar in the way on how they are structured they both require a thesis and
a lot of research.
A topic that could be developed using persuasive writing could be arguing why a person shouldn't
litter. This topic has two sides that could

Reflection Of Expository Writing

Reflective Essay
I have been taking Expository Writing for 4 months. I have found that I need to be able to
communicate myself in writing. I must relay exactly what I'm trying to put forth to others and
convey the right message of understanding. I must be able to explain myself, negotiate, and work
in teams. My language skills can be worked on and improved. I need to be able to pick up the
language of whatever environment I'm in whether it be at work or school, or in society. Since
everyone does not have the same background, learning how to write the written word is important
in any environment. I have learned how to write and express myself, how to think for myself, and
how to find answers to things I do not know. Most important I have learned how to believe in my
writing.
I was very hesitant in taking this English class, I have not taken an English class in many years.
When I took the placement test for reading and English, I tested out of all categories. I was proud
of myself for that feat. When I found I was going to have to take a college level English class, I
avoided it at all costs. Too much pressure. However, I have learned about the Rhetorical Essay
was to understand how an author writes and not focus on what the content is. Knowing the
explanation of what techniques and author uses to make their point come across to the intended
audience. I learned about Argumentative Research Paper is to debate both sides of an issue. The
intent is to be unbiased and state the facts on either side. I learned about Public Piece with
Presentation is meant to deliver an effective presentation to engage your audience. Your audience
listens to not only what you are saying but your visual engagement in the topic being presented.
Also, the point of the class is to be able to work with others to achieve a desired outcome or task.
To know that I can work with others in a cohesive environment to draw on everyone's input and
views. This will assist me in the real work of life and assist in handling many types of people and
myself in communicating.
I have never been a good writer; however, I have learned that communication is not the same when
writing. Having a conversation about aliens

HIV and AIDS Essay
HIV is the human immunodeficiency virus that causes AIDS. A member of a group of viruses
called retroviruses, HIV infects human cells and uses the energy and nutrients provided by those
cells to grow and reproduce. AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) is a disease in which the
body's immune system breaks down and is unable to fight off certain infections, known as
"opportunistic infections," and other illnesses that take advantage of a weakened immune system.
When a person is infected with HIV, the virus enters the body and lives and multiplies primarily in
the white blood cells. These are the immune cells that normally protect us from disease.

Most of them do not know they carry HIV and may be spreading the virus to others. Here in the
U.S., nearly one million people have HIV infection or AIDS, or roughly one out of every 250
people. At least 40,000 Americans become newly infected with HIV each year, and it is estimated
that half of all people with HIV in the U.S. have not been tested and do not know they are carrying
the virus.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, AIDS has killed more than 30 million people worldwide,
including more than 500,000 Americans. AIDS has replaced malaria and tuberculosis as the
world's deadliest infectious disease among adults and is the fourth leading cause of death
worldwide. Over 13 million children have been orphaned by the epidemic. A person who is
HIV–infected carries the virus in certain body fluids, including blood, semen, vaginal secretions, and
breast milk. The virus can be transmitted only if such HIV–infected fluids enter the bloodstream of
another person. This kind of direct entry can occur (1) through the linings of the vagina, rectum,
mouth, and the opening at the tip of the penis; (2) through intravenous injection with a syringe; or
(3) through a break in the skin, such as a cut or sore. Usually, HIV is transmitted through:
Unprotected sexual intercourse (either vaginal or anal) with someone who is HIV infected.
Women are at greater risk of HIV infection through vaginal sex than men, although

The Effects of Bullying on a Child Essay
The Effects of Bullying on a Child
Every day in our schools, children are threatened, teased, taunted, and tormented by bullies. At any
given time, about 25 percent of U.S. students are the victims of bullies and about 20 percent are
engaged in bullying behavior (Education World, 2000). The National Association of School
Psychologists estimates that 160,000 children stay home from school every day because they are
afraid of being bullied (Education World, 2000).
Bullying is characterized by three criteria(NCPTB, 2003):
It is aggressive behavior or the intent to harm,
It is carried out repeatedly and over time; and

May lose interest in school work and experience a decline in academic performance.
It is important to note there are often severe affects of bullying. In Why Kids Kill: Exploring the
Causes and Possible Solutions, Sylvia Rimm, a clinical professor of psychiatry and pediatrics at
Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, identifies a common trait among the violent
children she's worked with: "There was always a history of problems in peer relationships," Rimm
said. "All of them [children who expressed anger violently] had been teased by others more than
what is typical." All the violent children, in other words, had been the victims of bullies (Rimm,
2000). Victims of bullying often suffer lifelong problems with low self–esteem. They are prone to
depression, suicide, and other mental health problems throughout their lives (Education World, 2000).

Parents should encourage the child to share their feelings with them. The child

You ever hear someone say they have swagger? A lot of times people's swagger is determined
from their style. For example, everyone has a specific style of fashion. If you put on some cargo
shorts with a tank top and slides you're probably not going to a job interview. Just like anything else,
writing has different expressions. Writing is a form of communication; the person is writing to
inform, persuade, describe, or tell a story. There are four main types of writing styles, expository,
persuasive, descriptive, and narrative. We then choose what we want to read according to our
interest in each category.
Let's look at expository writing. Expository writing is usually developed around one topic and is

Its name might as well give it away. Think of a closing argument in a court case being presented
to a jury. Each party's counsel is presenting a persuasive writing in the form of a speech. In this
type of writing the writer uses choice words in a cohesive manner in order to "sway" or persuade
the reader. You will most commonly come across this type of writing in advertisement. With that
being said, persuasive writing is all around us. This type of communication may consist of the
writer's opinions, but the best form also includes facts to back up his or her statements. With
attempts to get consumers to purchase specific products, we see persuasive writings all around us in
today's world.

An anonymous soldier gives detailed picture of a battlefield scene. Descriptive writing, often
used to portray a vivid, detailed experience, person, place, or thing, is third of the writing styles.
This style of writing requires strong observation skills to convey the writer's point of view. In
personal stories, you tend to see a lot of descriptive writing because it's the writer's story. He or she

The Health Benefits of Exercise Essay
Exercise is one of the most important factors in a persons' life. Physical activity, or the lack of it,
can result in a person having a healthy life or cause them to have diabetes. The benefits of exercise
are countless. The positive health results, the improvement in attitude, even better academic

Merely not using a person's body is harmful. Not being active results in a person's muscles

A person's joints will become stiff and can be injured easily. Inactivity can be as much of a health

Adults should have around thirty to sixty minutes of physical activity four to six times a week. Two
hours and thirty minutes is the minimum a fully developed person needs to lessen the risk of having
some type of chronic disease later in life ("Information").
Physical fitness has two main classifications–performance related and health related. People have
different performance related requirements in accordance with their occupation but all people have
the same health related requirements (The World). Then there are two types ofexercise that helps
tone a person's body while increasing its endurance. These are aerobic and anaerobic. Aerobic
exercise is exercise that uses the muscles and bones. Cardio activities are a good example of this,
such as running or biking. This type of exercise increases the strength of a person's heart and
boosts their lung capacity. Anaerobic exercise is an intense but short amount of exercise
(Payment). Since it is only for a brief amount of time, it does not require the amount of oxygen
aerobic exercise does. Instead it uses glycogen which comes from the sugar in a person's blood.
An example of this exercise is weight lifting or sprinting. A person's requires both anaerobic and
aerobic exercise for good health. Simply doing a cardio work out is not healthy, and for a person to
see real results there must be some activity like weight lifting ("Anaerobic").
By performing some type of physical activity each

B. The Three Essentials and useful steps and techniques
1. Shelter, Water, and Food– The most important concept of wilderness survival is prioritizing
which is more important, shelter, water, or food. Survival teachers discuss a "Rule of threes",
stating "You can live 3 minutes without oxygen, 3 hours without warmth, 3 days without water, 3
weeks without food. "You'll die of hypothermia before you die of thirst," says Lundin, ("Eight steps

before dying of starvation, that makes shelter most important, water second, and food third

back seat using a blanket and running the engine ten minutes each hour. If you don't have a car, then
finding an area that has no ground moisture or wetness, can turn away the wind, retain warmth, and
doesn't have any large animal feces or remains around. You should consider if you will be able to
survive with the resources around your shelter before settling there. The next most important thing is

Liberal Arts Education Essay
A liberal arts education is one that, by definition, focuses not on one specific subject, but rather
prepares its student by giving them knowledge in many areas and developing the student's critical
thinking that will allow them to adapt to an ever–changing world. Naturally, this means students at a
university that employs a liberal arts education take classes outside their major. Students of the
humanities or social sciences must enroll in courses of mathematics and natural sciences, and while
many find no joy in such requirements, they better the individual and are helpful in everyday life,
as well as in larger issues. As Crane and Chiles so eloquently write, specifically of science, "Science
matters at a liberal–arts university because the problems facing our global community will not be
solved by scientists alone." Mathematics as a subject acts in a similar way, giving skills to students,
non–mathematics majors included, to help in their everyday lives or potentially to help the world.

To do that, Chopp argues that "What you have to do is to learn the very tools of learning itself. The
liberal arts are...the gold standard for that" (qtd. in Goral). Students, particularly those in the
humanities and social sciences, are thus offered different methods of learning when classes stretch
beyond their major. As is an essential part of a liberal arts education, this breadth of knowledge
enhances the critical and intellectual thinking of students that otherwise might not have had the
opportunity to do so. The creativity and pursuit of knowledge encouraged by non–STEM majors has
much to offer to solve the problems of the world, and a basic understanding of mathematics and
sciences means that these problems seem much more understandable, their solutions more

  • 1. An Exposition Of Ephesians 2 : 1-10 Analysis Paper An Exposition of Ephesians 2:1–10 By: Michele Mosca Presented to: Prof. Jordan Newton Bible Study Methods Bi2029:00am 11/12/2014 Ephesians 2:1–10 Theme Statement of Book Believers have been unified in salvation by grace and are called to live like Christ. Main Idea of Passage At one point in time, everyone lived as a sinner. But God chose to save them through grace. Believers should respond in good works. Outline of Passage I.We used to live in disobedience as slaves tosin and our flesh (v. 1–3). II.But God restored us to himself through his love and mercy and saved us with his grace (v. 4–7). III.Although we were not saved by works, we are called to respond to God by doing the works he prepared for...show more content... "The grandeur of the ancient city is evident in the remains uncovered by archaeologists, including the ruins of the Artemision, the civic agora, the temple of Domitian, gymnasiums, public baths, a theater with seating for 24,000, a library, and the commercial agora, as well as several streets and private residences" (Holman, np). This was a big city, full of culture, and full of ungodly people and activities. Among the many religious groups in the city, there were many Jews there who were brought the gospel right after Pentecost (Orr, np). Because of the pluralism of religions in the city, new Christians didn't know exactly what to believe or how to worship. On top of this, the city was constantly bombarded with false teachers trying to tell people that salvation came from works, not faith (MacArthur, np). Paul visited Ephesus on his first missionary journey, on the way from Greece to Syria. After his third missionary journey, he stayed there and pastored the Ephesian church for 3 years (Easton, np). "Though Paul was not the first to bring Christianity to Ephesus, for Jews had long lived there, he was the first to make progress against the worship of Diana" (Orr, np). Because of his strong ties to the church, Paul cared deeply about the faith of the believers there (Macarthur, np). The theme of his letter to the Ephesians is that believers have been unified in salvation by grace and are called to live like Christ. Ephesians 2:1–8 focused mainly

  • 3. Expository Writing Rough Draft On School Kirk Zimmer Expository Writing Rough Draft Everything Wrong With School In 10 Minutes or Less! When I was twelve, I had no appreciation for school. I saw it as nothing more as a glorified daycare center with all the rules and regulations specifically designed to restrict as much fun as possible. Then one day in the ninth grade, I had a revelation: what if school was actually meant to build me up with knowledge and facts and not just waste my time? This was the foundation I needed to get me through the next four years. Whenever I was bored, I would remind myself that I 'd never have a "free" education like this again. I adapted particularly well to this system of tests, quizzes, and science labs but I could never understand the hang up some people had with it. School was basic and easy and all it seemed to require was consistency an+d proper scheduling. I looked at people who couldn 't understand US History or Geometry and I thought they were dumb. It wasn 't until much later with much more reflection that I came to conclude there 's a difference between how you score on the SATs and how smart you actually are. Education isn 't necessarily a direct line to becoming intelligent and knowledgeable; education is nothing more than an institution designed to equip people with subsets of specialized processing methodologies, algorithms, and a fair bit of esoteric trivia. Furthermore, the current educational system in place is inefficient because of its rigid nature. The current Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. How to Make Fruit Smoothies Essay Ever wish there were a delicious smoothie somewhere to buy at an inexpensive price? Well there is, and there is no need to go out! Read this section on how to make fruit smoothies and make a scrumptious smoothie. To make a good smoothie, the materials needed are: about Đ’Ń• cup of juice, or milk, about 2 cups of fresh or frozen fruits, Đ’Đ… of yogurt, and finally, 6 cubes of ice if the fruits aren't frozen. A blender that can crush ice well and that has a secure lid is also required. Unlike other recipes, a smoothie recipe doesn't have to use exact measurements. To have a better tasting smoothie, use frozen fruits. Freeze fresh fruits, or buy them pre–frozen. If the fruits are too big, cut them in half. Also, peel the fruits before loading...show more content... To make the smoothie healthier, include a scoop of whey or soy protein powder. For a sweet smoothie, use pineapple juice for the liquid. Something creamy? Try milk. Try using different flavored yogurts and combinations of fruits. Now that all the material is prepared, get cooking! Gather all the ingredients and put them in the blender. To make things easier, put the fruits first, and then the milk or the juice. The liquid will help the fruits melt a bit, making it easier to pure. Finally, add the yogurt. When all the ingredients are in the blender, turn it on, using the liquefy or puree setting. Depending on the blender, wait about 30 seconds and turn it off so that the fruits will be mixed up well with the liquid and the yogurt. Make sure to put the cap on the blender and watch out for the cutter! It hurts if you cut yourself on it. When the ice cubes stop blending, turn off the blender and see if the smoothie is clear and if there are no chunks of fruits inside. Get a spoon and move it around in the blender to check. If the smoothie looks too thin add more fruits or ice and this should thicken it up. If it looks too thick, add more liquid in it. Adding yogurt or a banana will thicken the smoothie, but don't add both unless another watery fruit is used in the smoothie. Once this step is finished, pour the cool concoction into a large glass. For maximum health benefit, drink the smoothie straight away. If there is too much, then freeze the smoothie. A frozen Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 6. Expository Essay Rough Draft Expository Essay: Rough Draft Everyone can feel, just like you and I, but there's one important question that lingers through the air. Should we really be accepting of other people? To answer the question, yes! Although this does speak from opinion, it's essential to be accepting of others. It's understandable to find laboriousness when looking through others, but we need to remember the reasons why it's imperative. To start off, we're all the same! We're all people, but sometimes, we seem to overlook that part of us. We all process the same way, and I feel as if that's a good enough reason to find acceptance. Something else to remember is that we all have emotions. When we don't accept eachother for who we are, our emotions can get Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. How to Analyze an Expository Essay Expository writing, in general, is present everywhere. When you pick up a magazine or examine a newspaper article on the newsstand, you are reading a form of exposition because the author's main purpose of writing that article or essay is to inform the reader about a topic. In the classroom, many students are required to produce research papers about a specific topic, such as migration patterns of birds. The purpose of that research paper is to inform the reader, the teacher, about what are the migratory patterns of birds. Finally, at the workplace, many people are required to create business reports and memorandums to inform their supervisors and co–workers about the company's finances and progress. The text describes, "when you find water becoming extremely hot (or cold)," the homeowner suggests that the guest, "exit the tub promptly while using a sweeping motion with one arm to push shower curtain aside"(Frazier 303). This piece of direction is clear because it plainly informs the guest on the actual action they have to perform in order to prevent hot or cold water from burning or freezing the guest. It is also concise because it does not include any irrelevant information pertaining to avoiding burning or freezing the guest. This essay is organized because when the author listed out his or her directions, he or she listed them out in chronological order. Lastly, "How to Operate the Shower Curtain" acknowledges common mistakes, such as "REMEMBER TO KEEP SHOWER CURTAIN INSIDE TUB AT ALL TIMES!" (Frasier 303). The author is cautioning the guest to keep the shower curtain within the bath tub no matter what. The reason for determining the kind of expository essay it is to help in determining the purpose of the exposition as a whole. • 9. The Importance Of Expository Reading Expository text is a very important form of reading material that is used to present content in different ways. Starting as early as kindergarten, children should be able to identify the main topic, ask and answer questions, and describe connections between two different pieces of information (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Teachers have problems with studentsreading expository text. It is sometimes more difficult to read than just regular story reading. Hebert, Bohaty, Nelson, and Brown conducted a meta–analysis on text structure instruction, concluding that it was an effective way to improve expository reading comprehension (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Different strategies were developed to help with understanding expository reading comprehension. Teachers play a big role in helping the students understand. They have to begin with clear learning objectives that outlines the skills teachers want their students to demonstrate by the end of the instruction (Roehling, Hebert, Nelson, Bohaty, 2017). Once the teacher decides on the learning objective, they can plan specific instructional strategies to help students achieve the objectives. If there is a clear goal from the teacher, things will be easier on the students. Identification strategies is a good start in recognizing the structure of an expository text. • 13. Reflection Of Expository Writing Erwyn Suruy December 9, 2017 Eng 111 Reflective Essay I have been taking Expository Writing for 4 months. I have found that I need to be able to communicate myself in writing. I must relay exactly what I'm trying to put forth to others and convey the right message of understanding. I must be able to explain myself, negotiate, and work in teams. My language skills can be worked on and improved. I need to be able to pick up the language of whatever environment I'm in whether it be at work or school, or in society. Since everyone does not have the same background, learning how to write the written word is important in any environment. I have learned how to write and express myself, how to think for myself, and how to find answers to things I do not know. Most important I have learned how to believe in my writing. I was very hesitant in taking this English class, I have not taken an English class in many years. When I took the placement test for reading and English, I tested out of all categories. I was proud of myself for that feat. When I found I was going to have to take a college level English class, I avoided it at all costs. Too much pressure. However, I have learned about the Rhetorical Essay was to understand how an author writes and not focus on what the content is. Knowing the explanation of what techniques and author uses to make their point come across to the intended audience. I learned about Argumentative Research Paper is to debate both sides of an issue. The intent is to be unbiased and state the facts on either side. I learned about Public Piece with Presentation is meant to deliver an effective presentation to engage your audience. Your audience listens to not only what you are saying but your visual engagement in the topic being presented. Also, the point of the class is to be able to work with others to achieve a desired outcome or task. To know that I can work with others in a cohesive environment to draw on everyone's input and views. This will assist me in the real work of life and assist in handling many types of people and myself in communicating. I have never been a good writer; however, I have learned that communication is not the same when writing. Having a conversation about aliens Get more content on HelpWriting.net

At least 40,000 Americans become newly infected with HIV each year, and it is estimated that half of all people with HIV in the U.S. have not been tested and do not know they are carrying the virus. Since the beginning of the epidemic, AIDS has killed more than 30 million people worldwide, including more than 500,000 Americans. AIDS has replaced malaria and tuberculosis as the world's deadliest infectious disease among adults and is the fourth leading cause of death worldwide. Over 13 million children have been orphaned by the epidemic. A person who is HIV–infected carries the virus in certain body fluids, including blood, semen, vaginal secretions, and breast milk. The virus can be transmitted only if such HIV–infected fluids enter the bloodstream of another person. This kind of direct entry can occur (1) through the linings of the vagina, rectum, mouth, and the opening at the tip of the penis; (2) through intravenous injection with a syringe; or (3) through a break in the skin, such as a cut or sore. Usually, HIV is transmitted through: Unprotected sexual intercourse (either vaginal or anal) with someone who is HIV infected. I have believed for quite some time that my identity was a part of who I was, an unchangeable, connected, jumbled mass of my ideals and preferences. However, after speculation on this topic, and a deep and intimate search within my mind and soul, I have realized it is much, much more. I have searched through my community, my personal life, and the world around me to find answers to this deep and burning question. Furthermore, I have consulted the knowledge of books like The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian to continue my search. Through this process, I have begun to see that maybe I am quite a lot like this character Junior, who found what life meant for him in terms of his identity. For I have begun to understand the full complexities of my actions and my world that have shaped the woman I am today. Many prominent theorists have argued that perceptions of the self, the world, and the future are essential for mental health. Yet much research evidence suggests that overly positive self–evaluations, exaggerated perceptions of control or mastery, and unrealistic optimism are characteristics of normal human thought. Moreover, these illusions seem to promote other criteria of mental health, including, the ability to care about others, be happy or contented, and to engage in productive and creative work. • 22. Liberal Arts Education Essay A liberal arts education is one that, by definition, focuses not on one specific subject, but rather prepares its student by giving them knowledge in many areas and developing the student's critical thinking that will allow them to adapt to an ever–changing world. Naturally, this means students at a university that employs a liberal arts education take classes outside their major. Students of the humanities or social sciences must enroll in courses of mathematics and natural sciences, and while many find no joy in such requirements, they better the individual and are helpful in everyday life, as well as in larger issues. As Crane and Chiles so eloquently write, specifically of science, "Science matters at a liberal–arts university because the problems facing our global community will not be solved by scientists alone." Mathematics as a subject acts in a similar way, giving skills to students, non–mathematics majors included, to help in their everyday lives or potentially to help the world. ...show more content... To do that, Chopp argues that "What you have to do is to learn the very tools of learning itself. The liberal arts are...the gold standard for that" (qtd. in Goral). Students, particularly those in the humanities and social sciences, are thus offered different methods of learning when classes stretch beyond their major. As is an essential part of a liberal arts education, this breadth of knowledge enhances the critical and intellectual thinking of students that otherwise might not have had the opportunity to do so. The creativity and pursuit of knowledge encouraged by non–STEM majors has much to offer to solve the problems of the world, and a basic understanding of mathematics and sciences means that these problems seem much more understandable, their solutions more Get more content on HelpWriting.net
