1. Story board for the second
‘Continuity Sequence’
By Rosie Childs
2. Scene 1 and 2: This is the establishing shot to help
set the scene, a close up of the investigation room
door along with edited text of the movie title. The
lighting will be natural lighting and music will be
diegetic – any background noises of people talking
or the sound of distant cars. This will create a
natural and realistic environment which will help
the piece seem more convincing.
Scene 3 and 4: These shots will be filming the
interrogation from a variety of angles – close up,
extreme close up, over the shoulder shots and
medium shots. In doing this, it will hopefully create
a realistic view from the perspective of the
audience creating the illusion that they are in the
room with the characters. During the editing
process I hope to add dramatic and tense music in
order to create a suspenseful feel.
Scene 5: The extreme close-up shot of the
sergeants hand pushing a photo towards the
suspect will depict the intensity of the scene.
3. Scene 6 and 7: During these two scenes, I hope to add a ‘day dream’ effect. This
will involve and extreme close up of the suspects eyes, the current frame will
gradually fade, and then the following frame will show the victim dead or I will
film a short clip of the suspect cleaning blood off of a knife. Hopefully this will add
to the dramatic affect of the piece, making the video extremely gripping and
interesting to watch due to its variety. During the editing process I will change the
colour levels of the clip to highlight the change in ‘the current’ and ‘the past’.
During these frames, I will add intense, heartbeat-like music.
Scene 8: A really fast cut shot will then take the audience back to a side angle view
of the suspect sitting back In the questioning room. Dialogue will be exchanged
between the two characters and the diegetic music will resume.
Scene 9: An medium close up of the Sargent's face will portray her emotions
during this scene, allowing the audience to understand the severity of the
situation.
Scene 10: The final scene will consist of the suspect walking out of the questioning
room in an extremely smug way, accompanied by a dramatic instrumental, a long
shot will show him getting into his car and driving off. The frame will then end
suddenly on the beat of the audio.
