 An audio console is an electronic device
for combining (also called mixing),
routing, and changing the level, or
dynamics of audio signals.

 To preamplify and control the volume of
the various incoming signals.

5. Mix
 To combine and balance two or more
incoming signals.

 To manipulate the sound characteristics.

 To route the combined signals to a
specific output.

 To listen to the sounds before or as
their signals are actually recorded or
broadcast.

9. Audio Mixer
 An audio mixer is different from a
console in that it normally serves only
the input (volume control) and the
mixing (combining two or more signals)
functions.
