2. Most of the countries having the status of Fragile situations ,eligible by IDA are
going to face severe problems in the up coming years that is from 2020-2035.
The main problems are extreme poverty, corruption, low income levels among
people, less human development index.
So there should be a sustainable development in all these countries to compete
with the rest of the world in coming few years.
I would like to choose the situation of country MYANMAR which is having the
following features:
3. MYANMAR overview

5. Problems that are going to address and suggestions for
investments unlock are as follows
First avenue that is addressing in this slide is agricultural sector because
agriculture is the main source of income and most occupied labor force in the
country.
There are as many as possible ways to unlock investment opportunities in this
sector first among them is :
• 1) Private investments in agricultural products like manufacturing of pesticides
on basis of huge MASS production in the country.
• 2) Investments in the tools and equipment that are necessary for the effective
production of yields.
• 3) since the exports of MYANMAR fishery products are heavy to CHINA and
other countries so the new entities can invest in this sector to accelerate the
country’s growth rate.
6. • 4) There is one possible way to boost this agricultural sector is “ORGANIC
FARMING” . ORGANIC FARMING will gives best results in the higher yield
production. There is huge demand for the products that are produced through
ORGANIC FARMING.
• 5) fishes are also having good potential to produce high exportable quality to other
countries. Countries like TAIWAN, CHINA, THILAND are the potential markets to
export these kind of fishery products.
• 6) With the help of SUSTAINABLE DEVELPOMENT GOALS this country may get
good avenues of investments.
• 7) IDA and MULTILATERAL BANKS are very much helpful for any kind of
business units and assist them in each and every aspects of businesses.
• 8) Warehouses can be established by the private partners to fulfill the needs of farmers
and also able to generate the best revenues as the production will be through out the
whole year.
• 9) RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT institutions by the private and public partnership
in the filed of seed germination and hybrid variety of seeds.

9. This above table shows that there is a considerable increase in the production of
cereals in the country this helps in the rapid growth in the agricultural production .
So, investments in these areas will help the country to boost the economy and
generates employment to the population of the country.
Table 2 shows that public expenditure towards research and developments are very
low so this is the area or scope of opportunity to make invest by the private and
public partnership.

11. Industrial investment opportunities
In the year 1970 the contribution of industrial sector to the GDP of the country was
just 12.0% and it was 12.3 in the year 1980 and in the year 1995 it was just 15.2% but
in the year 2014 it was about 23.1% nearly 1.5 times of industrial production has been
increased in the short span of 2 decades. This helps the other private and public sector
industrial business units to invest their funds into this sector .
Cement, pharamaceuticals, copper, tin, tungsten, petroleum and gas are the major
exports by the country.
There are very huge opportunities in these areas of industrial areas like petroleum and
natural gas because its neighboring country INDIA is the best potential market for gas
and natural resource exports.
Industries can explore this opportunities to make more and more investments in this
particular area of natural resources.
Myanmar also having huge cement and copper industries are awaiting for investments .
12. There are huge opportunities to establish SEZS and special industrial areas
in the country

14. Most of the electricity produced in the country is with the help of HYDRO.
so there is big opportunity to invest huge funds in the area of power generation in
the thermal because of country having huge natural gases.
Many institutions like MULTILATERAL BANKS,IDA ,IMF and other world
bank group associated institutions always helps and encourage country and private
partners to produce energy.
Power grid energy can also be implemented by the private and public enterprises.
