2. Smoke BUSters
Interactive displays will
be exhibited in the Mobile
Bus Exhibition – Smoke
BUSters.
You will thus be able to be
informed of the negative
impacts of smoking on
both the individual and
the wider community.
3. Exhibit 1
SmokerNon-smoker
A camera on the screen will
capture an image to present
the body of a smoker with
your face onscreen. The
virtual persona will begin to
smoke to reveal the damaged
internal organs.
You will thus observe the
harmful internal effects that
smoking imposes on your
organs.
4. Exhibit 2
An employed person will be
shown on a touch-screen with
his savings. You will then
‘drag’ cigarettes to the man.
As the number of cigarettes
increase, his savings will
decrease as his spending on
cigarettes increase.
You will thus be aware that
smoking will reduce your
savings.
5. Exhibit 3
Two dummies replicating an average
human being will be featured. The first
dummy will represent the smoker while
the second dummy will represent an
individual affected by second-hand
smoke. When you press the button
connected to the mouth of the first
dummy, the lungs on the second dummy
will light up and coughing sounds will be
produced simultaneously.
You will thus observe the harmful effects
of smoking on the wider community.
6. Exhibit 4
You will attach the sections presenting the
different stages leading to a vicious cycle through
smoking onto the circular Velcro board. The first
section will depict a 12 year-old beginning to
smoke. The second section will then display the
same 12 year old as an 18 year old who is now a
heavy smoker. The third section will then portray
the individual who marries a woman who is also a
smoker while the fourth section will display the
individual’s child observing him smoke and the
cycle repeats itself.
You will thus understand that children may
eventually smoke due to negative parental
influence.
7. The Keeping Book
The Keeping Book will consist
of a reflective journal entry
and multiple stress relief cum
self-confidence building
entries. This will be used as a
post-activity after the
exhibition.
You will thus be able to reflect,
relief stress and reject
negative peer pressure,
enabling you to enhance your
learning and address the root
causes of smoking.
8. Reflective entries
The first and second question
stimulates your thinking and
prompts you to reflect deeply on
your experience. The third
question encourages you to
provide a personal response
instead of answering
generically.
You will thus be able to reflect
and enhance your learning in
Smoke BUSters.
9. Stress Relief & Self-confidence
Building entries
The first question will help you to
understand the causes of stress. The second
question will help you to facilitate reaction
towards stress. The third and fourth
question will help you to reject negative peer
pressure by boosting your self-confidence.
You will thus increase your self-
understanding and build self-confidence
which are both useful in relieving stress and
rejecting negative peer pressure.
