2. INTRODUCTION
In the year 1953 at the officers of THE MILAP, the
ANDHRA PRADESH PUNJABI SABHA was
formed. A few Punjabi families most of them refugees
from Pakistan settled in the twin cities and a few more
migrated in search of good business opportunities
recognized the need of coming together to cement the
cultural & values of Punjabi were brought into play
from day one, “Work hard and have a good life style”
was the motto. The founder President and the backbone
of the Sabha. He nurtured the Sabha for a number of
years initially as the President and later as the Patron.
The other founder members were Late.Dr.B.L.Vigg, Late.
Sardar Kesar Singh Saluja, Late Sardar Mohan Singh Saluja, Late
Shri K.R.Talwarjee, Late Shri Baldevjee and Late S.Raghubir Singh
Oberai.

7. The first Baisakhi Mela was arranged by the sabha
in the year 1953 and it was very well attended and
enjoyed. This Mela which is a typical gathering of
all Punjabi's is celebrated every year since then.

In year 2012 A.P Punjabi Sabha celebrated at
Chiranfort Club. The festival was marked by a
range of traditional and exciting activities such as
lighting the ritualistic bonfire, dancing on the beats
of dhol.
The event was to launch the Sabha’s Young Ladies
Wing- PHULKARI. Its under the leadership of Ms
Mini Sarna.

16. Phulkari Young Ladies Wing - Women's Day-2012
With the promise to showcase programmes of great quality,
the Phulkari Young Ladies Wing, of our Sabha celebrated
women hood on the 7th of March @ Yellowchillies.
Celebrations started by honoring some of the achiever &
prestigious Ladies from different fields who have risen
above social and culture boundaries overcoming barriers to
Ms.Amrita Ahluwalia achieve breakthrough success in their field of work. The
programmes had a fun antakshri played amongst the ladies
presents who sang and danced on different tunes. Focus
was on the Ladies to make them feel speacial.It,was truly
an event to understand that being a WOMAN is worth
Star Achiever’s celebrating all times.

being conducted by First Impression

own PUNJABI BHAVAN on a 1500 sq.
yds plot at one of the most promising
location in the twin city.
To keep the communications open
between the Sabha and its members, a

launched.
