As Managing Director of PCG Education’s Content Consulting Services, Dennis Jackson works with state and district clients to build systemic initiatives in the areas of literacy, mathematics, data use, and program evaluation. His work includes leadership roles in statewide project in Tennessee, New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Dennis is the co-author of the Massachusetts’ Department of Education’s nationally acclaimed Guidelines for Developing an Effective District Literacy Action Plan (MA ESE, 2011) and co-editor of Thinkquiry Toolkit 1: Strategies to Improve Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary Development Across the Content Areas (PCG, 2011).
EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining PCG Education, Dennis was President and Publisher at STEPS Professional Development USA, where he brought Australian instructional resources, such as First Steps Literacy and First Steps Mathematics, to the Americas. He has extensive experience in K-12 education, having worked as a teacher and curriculum director in public schools for over 20 years. In educational publishing, he held editorial and management roles at Heinemann, Silver Burdett Ginn, and DC Heath and has served as executive editor for training, print, and technology resources related to literacy and mathematics instruction.
EDUCATION AND ASSOCIATIONS
Dennis earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Education in Reading at Salem State College. He is a Past President of the Massachusetts Reading Association and has served on multiple statewide committees in his home state.
