The song would have been just as great if the replaced a few words. People would have
still sung along and danced to the song. The beat alone made you love the song. Rappers
should think about using the world nigga in songs because it has a effect on younger
people. When kids hear everyone else singing along to the song they repeat it. No matter
how cool you think changing the end of the word is it's still a offensive word. I guarantee
no rapper wants a white kid to come up to them and say my nigga.

This message of misrepresentation upset me because of my personal connection. I am
Arab and I am well versed in the culture. It appears that the only way to truly understand
this culture is through self-taught research or being a part of the culture. Media falsely
portrays a great deal of people, but I believe Arabs are among the many groups that are
being heavily misrepresented. I choose this form of mass media because it depicts the
average Arabs life as glamorous, while some Arabs are hard workers living in poverty, that
face a great deal of racism and stereotypes.

I think the underlying message being
portrayed with the cover is that sex sells and
Marvel knows it. It almost looks like they are
making a joke about it, basically saying we
will degrade women because it makes
money. Also adding the line, “THIS IS IT!
BECAUSE YOU DEMANDED IT.” is just a way
for Marvel to try and justify using this image.
The message is that people wanted to see
She Hulk posing like this so the company can
do this without responsibility to viewers
who might disapprove.

There is already, what I believe to be, an overblown stigma around marijuana use and these
token stoner characters that appear all the time only aid in enlarging that stigma as they are
seen by such a wide audience. I know that the writers and producers of these movies and
shows know that not all people who smoke frequently are like this and that the token stoner
is always good for a laugh but I think it would be refreshing to see another side. Perhaps a
hard working, successful person who can still enjoy marijuana or a story of how marijuana
can be very useful in the medical field.

In my opinion, the broader message that is conveyed is that women are only there to look
good, whereas men in videogames are shown to be strong and well protected. In today’s
society, women deserve to be treated equally to men. By displaying images like this in
video games, people still see women as objects that are meant just to satisfy people.

I found this message to be so
dissatisfying because I know that in the
show, Frank is a deadbeat alcoholic
father. Even if you haven't seen the t.v
show, you can see in the photo that he's
holding an alcoholic beverage. It is
confusing as to why they would portray
an alcoholic as an angel or god-like.

Disney is trying to say that by giving everything to Rey and basically assassinating Luke's
character they are saying that women are superior to men and that they don't need to
work hard to get anything like any human being would. Everything should just be given
to them. This is basically pandering to women who want to self insert themselves into
Rey instead of relating to her which what characters are meant for.

Grease contributes to the idea that girls will never “be enough” if they don’t have the
right look or if they are unwilling to “go all the way,” as Sonny, one of Danny’s friends,
would say. The movie exemplifies this idea by having Sandy successful on her mission to
win Danny’s heart, only when she sexualizes herself. This is dissatisfying because many
people fought for women’s rights and equality, but instead celebrating the win, women
are still subjecting themselves to the hand of a man.

This message in which Best Buy aired was picked out by me for this project because I
strongly believe that they could have added more women innovators instead of more
women who work at Best Buy that they show in the end…What about women like Zim
Ugochukwu? Did you know that she created an application just like Instagram but
instead, she noticed a lack of diversity in the social media world so she decided to
create a site called “Travel Noire” to have more young black people to be represented in
travel media? Neither did I.

My personal advice for the maker of this image would be that is it completely
unnecessary to pose these women in such a way as to sexualize them. Men’s clothing
companies are successful and they don't have to put them shirtless or in provocative
poses in order to do so. I believe that it is possible to sell a product without having to
use models as objects for sex. The focus on these advertisements is not selling clothing
but the sexualization of women.

This is just one mass media example out
of many where the most popular item
it being the headdress is so awfully
disrespected and misrepresented. Many
do not see the culture, the significance of
their culture is not just one of your pieces
of clothing or accessories to wear. It is
something so important to t hem as even
each small or large feather on a headdress
has some type of meaning.

The surface Image Victoria Secret Angels conveys is to sell a sexy product that looks
good to make money and to make it seem like these images are ideal. The underlying message is
potentially two –fold. One message says to the audience if I buy this product I will look as sexy as
the women that are wearing the product look. The second underlying message is that sexiness
equates with an angelic women who is above average in height, with no body fat and smiling
wearing sexy lingerie. They are possibly trying to say that if you look this skinny you will
be this happy since the women are smiling so much. They appear happy and smiling but are
known to be constantly hungry and under heavy stress to keep their body image.

I would advise the maker of this
message and others involved in
the media to celebrate the victims
of these crimes as opposed to the
people that committed them. I
would also recommend to them
that they stop sympathizing with
the people who do these horrible
things, regardless of what caused
them to do it.

This topic is more of a real life view of how our world thinks. So the advice I
would give to the world is to give people a chance to show you who they truly
are. Never assume a person a some kind of way because of their profession or
even their hobby. The world views rap as a horrible influencer to our
generation, but how can something that involves great knowledge of words
and creativity be looked at as bad.

They take the message of Asian people being very smart and the underlying message is
that they're not human like the rest of the human race they are designed and built to be
“Compact, Hairless, and fiercely intelligent” I find that message dissatisfying because it
just continues harmful stereotypes and encourages them because although family guy is
a very good show and I do love the humor mostly.

As for my advice—it’s not just for the filmmakers but it’s also for the company that put
out the film. The History Channel is a major network and should not be taking part in
spreading racial propaganda. Advice for anyone in the future dealing with the topic of
Satan—make sure Satan doesn’t look like Obama. The fact that strikes me is that this major
film went through so many eyes—from casting, to makeup artists, costume designers,
lighting directors (because lighting and makeup played a key part of making Ouazanni look
like Obama) and so many more eyes. All in all, people need to be more careful about the
images they portray, especially under a controversial topic such as showing religion on film.

To be completely honest, I’m a little confused on what it’s actually trying to say. It’s kind of
stupid…One thing that stood out to me was the caption at the bottom of the ad. It reads;
“keep on dreaming of a better world”. Are you saying that in a better world, females are
objects? Or that they can be used as part of a game? Also, why couldn't there be a dressed
model PLAYING with the console instead of BEING one?... Turning females into object
affects all females, and their self esteem. It also does something even more insidious. It
creates a climate in which there is widespread violence against women. Turning a human
being into an object is almost always the first step toward justifying violence against that
person.

Instead of saying “The lady is an ump,” a
better title would be “Pam Postema makes
history.” Even the small message beneath it
makes it seem like she has no chance of
succeeding. “Pam Postema gets a shot at
the big leagues.” To me, that means that
she’ll get a chance but she won’t last…. The
message I would give the maker is, treat
others the way you want to be treated. Even
if you don’t agree that females should be
umpires in the MLB, at least show some
respect and appreciate the courage and the
bravery this lady has endured in her career
of umpiring. Show her face in the cover and
have her name in the title of the headline.
At least give her a fair chance for us the
readers to see what she looks like and
embark on her journey because I’m
sure it wasn’t easy for her.

I find the message to be dissatisfying
because for long in Hollywood
history, in movies there will always be
a storyline about two women fighting
over the same man. Women tend to
be represented as an object that
must be chosen by a man or seen as
enemies between each other…Advice
I have for the maker of the message?
I would recommend that the media
not continuously portray women to
be after each other. Also for women
to be in competition with each other
and represented as a prize for a man.
