plug numbers into our formula ( | (a - b) | / ((a + b)/2) ) * 100
= ( | (5 - 7) | / ((5 + 7)/2) ) * 100
= ( |-2| / (12/2)) * 100
= ( 2/6 )* 100
= 0.3333 * 100
= 33.33% difference.
Note:
That if we let a = 7 and b = 5 we would still have a difference of 33.33%.
