1. PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN THROUGH
AIDS FOR HEART ATTACK OR ELECTRIC
SHOCK
NAME:
CLASS:
ROLL NO:
2. Heart attack
A heart attack happens when the flow of oxygen rich blood to a section of heart muscle
suddenly becomes blocked and the heart can’t get oxygen. If blood flow isn’t restored
quickly, the section of heart muscle begins to die.
Symptoms of heart attack
Chest pain or discomfort.
Upper body discomfort
Shortness of breath
Breaking out in a cold sweat
Feeling unusually tired for no reason, sometimes for days
3. ELECTRIC SHOCK
An Electric shock occurs when someone comes in contact with an electric energy or it is the
physiological reaction or injury caused by electric current passed through the human body.
How can you get Electric Shock:
By poorly insulated Wires
By ungrounded electrical equipment
By using electrical equipment while in contact with water
By being stuck by lightening
Symptoms of Electric Shock:
An electric shock can have no injury at all
Burns(which are the most common
Cardiac arrest due to the electric effect on the heart
Muscle, nerve and destruction from a current passing through the body
Death(electrocution)
4. First Aid for Heart Attack:
Position the patient. Must be supine on firm; flat surface, with arms on sides.
Chest Compressions.
Begin CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) if the person is unconscious. If the person isn't
breathing or you don't find a pulse, begin CPR to keep blood flowing. CPR involves a
combination of chest compressions and artificial ventilations designed to revive a person
and prevent biological death by mechanically keeping a person's heart and lungs working.
If an automated external defibrillator (AED) is immediately available and the person is
unconscious, follow the device instructions for using it.
Use Ventilation Aids if available.
5. First Aid for Electric Shock:
Check for a person’s response and breathing. It may be necessary to commence
cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
If the breathing is steady and they are responsive, attend to their injuries. Cool the burns
with cool running water for 20 minutes. Never put ointments or oils onto burns. If the
person has fallen from a height, try not to move them unnecessarily in case they have
spinal injuries. Only move them if there is a chance of further danger from the
environment (such as falling objects).
Talk calmly and reassuringly to the person.
Be calm and Don’t panic.
Don’t forget to call for ambulance in the mean time.
