5. Fun Facts!
Health experts believe that students should stay active for 1 hour a day in
as many ways as they can.
According to the Department of Health:
In 2003, physical inactivity caused 6.6% of the disease burden in Australia.
Only one in ten young people take part in the 60 minutes of physical
activity every day.
On average children spend more than 2 hours on screen-based activity
(computer, tv or console) and less on physical activity.

The important part in achieving better health and active
kids we need help from teachers, parents and schools to
promote the health and wellbeing of students.
Studies have shown that good health leads to more active
children and involvement in classrooms.
