 Walk in LOVE – not in
unloving sin – Ep 5:1-7
 Walk in LIGHT – not in
darkness - Ep 5:8-14
 Walk in WISDOM – not in

3.  Christ is the head & Savior - (5:23)
 Therefore . . . the church is to be
subject to Christ in everything – (5:24)
 Christ loves the church & gave
Himself for it – (5:25)
 Christ sanctifies, cleanses and

 Christ nourishes & cherishes it – (5:29)
 The church is one with Christ, as a
husband & wife – (5:30-32; cf. Rev.

4.  Wives, submit to your own husbands,
as to the Lord in everything - (5:22,24)
 The husband is head of the wife, as
Christ is head of the church – (5:23)
 Husbands, love your wives, just as
Christ also loved the church – (5:25)
 Husbands ought to love their own
wives as their own bodies - (nourishing
& cherishing)– (5:28,29)
 The husband & wife are one – (5:31)

5.  Children, obey your parents in the
Lord, for this is right - (6:1; cf Col. 3:20)
 Children, . . . “Honor your father and
mother," which is the first
commandment with promise: - (6:2,3)
 Fathers, do not provoke your children
to wrath – (6:4; cf. Col. 3:21; Prov.
22:15; 23:13,14; 29:15-17)
 Bring them up in the training and
admonition of the Lord. – (5:25; cf.
Prov. 22:6; Deut. 6:7; 2 Tim. 3:15)

6.  Bondservants, be obedient to those
who are your masters . . . - (6:5-7; cf
Col. 3:22; 1 Tim. 6:1-3; Tit. 2:9,10)
 Knowing that whatever good anyone
does, he will receive the same from
the Lord - (6:8; Prov. 11:18; Col. 3:22-
24)
 Masters, do the same things to them,
giving up threatening, knowing that
your own Master also is in heaven,
and there is no partiality with Him –
