- 7. Honoring Authority Jude1:8-9 The angel, Michael controls his tongue towards the devil. 1 Sam. 24:2-7 David feels remorse for cutting King Saul’s robe.
- 8. Dishonoring Authority Num.12:1-15 Miriam & Aaron murmur against Moses. Gen. 9:20-27 Noah’s son, Ham uncovers his father’s sin. Num. 16:1-3, 23-33 Korah’s rebellion against Moses.
- 9. Family Ex. 20:12 Honor your father & mother. Col. 3:20 Children obey your parents in ALL things: this pleases the Lord. Eph. 5:21-33; 6:1-4 Wives submit yourselves to your husbands! Eph. 5:21 “…submitting to one another in the fear of God.”

The sullen servant who does shoddy work will be held responsible. Being a follower of Jesus doesn't cover up bad work.” 1 Pet. 2:18 Submit to your boss whether they are good or not!

Show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work.” 1 Tim. 5:17-18 “Elders who do their work well should be respected and paid well, especially those who work hard at both preaching and teaching.”

- 14. Cell Leaders Bean Armor Bearer at all times! Learn to love and respect your cell leader. Never talk negatively about them. Always pray for and support them. Love their family. Help carry the duties of the cell…be a disciple.
- 15. Pastors Know yourPastor (his needs, likes, dislikes) Esteem him highly. Double honor (Gk) Value, Highest Esteem, Dignity, Money (salary) Follow him. Obey and submit. Bring joy to your Pastor
- 16. Conclusion God hasestablished ALL authority! Submit to the leaders God has placed over you in your family, government, work & church. Honoring authority brings great blessings! Rebelling against authority brings drastic consequences!

- #6 If you say you Respect God’s authority over you (who you can’t see), but you REBEL against the earthly authority he has established (which you CAN see), you are a LIAR. There are Blessings and Consequences for those who submit or rebel against authority. God blesses the man that honors authority. God judges REBELS.
- #8 Jude 1:8-9 “8 In the same way, these people—who claim authority from their dreams—live immoral lives, defy authority, and scoff at supernatural beings. 9 But even Michael, one of the mightiest of the angels, did not dare accuse the devil of blasphemy, but simply said, “The Lord rebuke you!” (This took place when Michael was arguing with the devil about Moses’ body.) 1 Samuel 24:2- 7 “So Saul chose 3,000 elite troops from all Israel and went to search for David and his men near the rocks of the wild goats. 3 At the place where the road passes some sheepfolds, Saul went into a cave to relieve himself. But as it happened, David and his men were hiding farther back in that very cave! 4 “Now’s your opportunity!” David’s men whispered to him. “Today the Lord is telling you, ‘I will certainly put your enemy into your power, to do with as you wish.’” So David crept forward and cut off a piece of the hem of Saul’s robe. 5 But then David’s conscience began bothering him because he had cut Saul’s robe. 6 “The Lord knows I shouldn’t have done that to my lord the king,” he said to his men. “The Lord forbid that I should do this to my lord the king and attack the Lord’s anointed one, for the Lord himself has chosen him.” 7 So David restrained his men and did not let them kill Saul.”

Please don’t punish us for this sin we have so foolishly committed. 13 So Moses cried out to the Lord, “O God, I beg you, please heal her! ” 14 But the Lord said to Moses, “If her father had done nothing more than spit in her face, wouldn’t she be defiled for seven days15 So Miriam was kept outside the camp for seven days, and the people waited until she was brought back before they traveled again.” Gen. 9:20-27 “After the flood, Noah began to cultivate the ground, and he planted a vineyard. 21 One day he drank some wine he had made, and he became drunk and lay naked inside his tent. 22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw that his father was naked and went outside and told his brothers. 23 Then Shem and Japheth took a robe, held it over their shoulders, and backed into the tent to cover their father. As they did this, they looked the other way so they would not see him naked. 24 When Noah woke up from his stupor, he learned what Ham, his youngest son, had done . 25 Then he cursed Canaan, the son of Ham: “May Canaan be cursed! May he be the lowest of servants to his relatives.” Num. 16:1-3 “One day Korah son of Izha, conspired with... 2 They incited a rebellion against Moses , along with 250 other leaders of the community, all prominent members of the assembly. 3 They united against Moses and Aaron and said, “You have gone too far! The whole community of Israel has been set apart by the Lord, and he is with all of us. What right do you have to act as though you are greater than the rest of the Lord’s people?” Num. 16:23-33 And the Lord said to Moses, 24 “Then tell all the people to get away from the tents of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.” 25 So Moses got up and rushed over to the tents of Dathan and Abiram, followed by the elders of Israel. 26 “Quick!” he told the people. “Get away from the tents of these wicked men, and don’t touch anything that belongs to them. If you do, you will be destroyed for their sins.” 27 So all the people stood back from the tents... 28 And Moses said, “This is how you will know that the Lord has sent me to do all these things that I have done—for I have not done them on my own. 29 If these men die a natural death, or if nothing unusual happens, then the Lord has not sent me. 30 But if the Lord does something entirely new and the ground opens its mouth and swallows them and all their belongings , and they go down alive into the grave, then you will know that these men have shown contempt for the Lord.” 31 He had hardly finished speaking the words when the ground suddenly split open beneath them. 32 The earth opened its mouth and swallowed the men, along with their households and all their followers who were standing with them, and everything they owned. 33 So they went down alive into the grave, along with all their belongings. The earth closed over them, and they all vanished from among the people of Israel.” The fastest way to bring judgment into your life is to Rebel against the men of God. Never, ever speak against pastors…even if they aren’t your pastor today!
- #10 Children obey your parents: You learn to submit to God by submitting to your parents! It doesn’t matter if they are right or wrong! You must do what they say until you are 18 – after that, you still must honor them! You may only disobey your parents if they ask you to do something against the Bible. Marriage: The husband is Responsible for their wife before the Lord. They have the Responsibility; they must have the Authority to go with it! Husbands, love your wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her! Never abuse the authority God has given you! Wives do not have to submit to their husbands concerning the things of God if the husband is not following the Lord.
- #11 Romans 13:3-7 “ 3 For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you. 4 The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong. 5 So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience. 6 Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority. God has established all authority…even the Government. You are to submit whether you agree or not! As long as it does not command you to do something the Bible forbids, or tells you not to do something the Bible commands. You must obey the laws and submit to your government. People who do not submit are rebellious!
- #12 Work for you boss as though you were working for God! Work for your boss, with singleness of heart, and God will bless you! Be faithful at work, the hardest worker, the best attitude…this honors God! Never speak evil of your boss!
- #13 Recognize (show Respect) all leaders over you in the Church. You can never honor and show too much respect for those over you. Always give double honor to your pastors!
- #16 Your Pastor is a gift from God.
- #17 God will defend and protect you. He will bless you as you submit to authority. The Lord judges Rebels quicker than any other sin. Homework Assignment: You must talk to your Cell Leader this week. Give them the opportunity to speak freely regarding any areas in your life where you are not submitting to authority and/or have displayed a rebellious attitude. Your Cell Leader must notify Tim McDonald that the assignment has been completed. This is not a written assignment – Your Cell Leader’s notification will give you your credit of completion.
