Reflective thinking
Kindergarten’s Final Assignment
Barth María Pía
Introduction
This year, in the month of March, I started thinking and planning my practicum schedule. It
was not difficult for me to decide the schools in which I wanted to do my practicum. I
decided to do it in the school I’m working in since I knew very well the Institution. The
school is called Castex and it’s located in San Carlos de Bariloche. As soon as I started
the subject I gave the agreement to the school’s head teacher to sign it up, and I agreed
on a schedule with the course’s teacher to start my kindergarten’s practicum in Kinder 5.
Development
My main goal during my practicum in kindergarten was to transmit and demonstrate all the
knowledge I had acquired all along the career. As well as focusing on my role in order to
analyze and reflect about my self- development, and get acquainted with my future role,
trying to discover my qualities and faults to perform my job.
Almost all of the aims and objectives set out in my lesson planning were successfully
achieved. There was one common objective in all of my lesson plans, and it was to use the
language in a communicative context. I established the goals and planned all the activities
taking into account the Communicative Approach since, in my opinion and according to the
theories I’d studied, it’s essential and necessary to use the language in order to
communicate in real situations. According to Wikipedia this approach emphasizes in
helping learners to use the target language in a wide range of contexts, its main objective
is to help learners to produce meaningful utterances instead of teaching them to achieve
perfect grammatical structures or pronunciation. It means that language has to be focused
on meaning rather than form. Furthermore, I’d also read Rufino’s point of view, and he
states that the flow of motivation should vary along the lesson, and it will obviously reflect
our ability to cater for our students’ attention for a period of time.
The activities developed in this period of the practicum were intended to promote
motivation among the children providing them with creative and real situations to use the
language. The objectives, activities and the use of resources were coherent from a
pedagogical perspective point of view.
Taking into account all these principles that I’ve just mentioned, I would like to add that
when I started the practicum I realised that my activities were communicative but children
had no opportunities to produce utterances instead of repeating just words. By the end of
the period I also learnt that I must perform this in order to help students to produce longer
utterances such as “this is my nose” instead of just saying “nose”. I think that one of my
weaknesses during my practicum was this one, and I would like to modify it in future
situations. As well as I would like to add more interaction among the kids and the material,

for example I would try to make that my friend “Loobster” (a class puppet) can have more
interaction with them, as I previously said, in order to create more authentic and real
situations to speak.
I think that to be effective teachers we must use as many much as resources as we can,
we must investigate and get acquainted withto the new pedagogical methodologies,
approaches and advances.
Conclusion
To conclude, I must say that my practicum experienced hasd helped me a lot to be more
acquainted with to my career. I could achieve my goals and I also had opportunities to
apply my knowledge using different strategies acquired in the course of studies.career. I
also consider that I demonstrated that I have ability to be a teacher and a roper classroom
manager management. I could say that I’m satisfied with the way I developed this
practicum, however, I would like to modify and take advantage of some aspects that I
previously mentioned such as my weaknesses and my mistakes in order to do this
experience more challenging.

Barth tpd - reflective learning- kindergarten

TPD -REFLEXION PERSONAL –BARTH MARÍA PÍA Reflective thinking Kindergarten’s Final Assignment Barth María Pía Introduction This year, in the month of March, I started thinking and planning my practicum schedule. It was not difficult for me to decide the schools in which I wanted to do my practicum. I decided to do it in the school I’m working in since I knew very well the Institution. The school is called Castex and it’s located in San Carlos de Bariloche. As soon as I started the subject I gave the agreement to the school’s head teacher to sign it up, and I agreed on a schedule with the course’s teacher to start my kindergarten’s practicum in Kinder 5. Development My main goal during my practicum in kindergarten was to transmit and demonstrate all the knowledge I had acquired all along the career. As well as focusing on my role in order to analyze and reflect about my self- development, and get acquainted with my future role, trying to discover my qualities and faults to perform my job. Almost all of the aims and objectives set out in my lesson planning were successfully achieved. There was one common objective in all of my lesson plans, and it was to use the language in a communicative context. I established the goals and planned all the activities taking into account the Communicative Approach since, in my opinion and according to the theories I’d studied, it’s essential and necessary to use the language in order to communicate in real situations. According to Wikipedia this approach emphasizes in helping learners to use the target language in a wide range of contexts, its main objective is to help learners to produce meaningful utterances instead of teaching them to achieve perfect grammatical structures or pronunciation. It means that language has to be focused on meaning rather than form. Furthermore, I’d also read Rufino’s point of view, and he states that the flow of motivation should vary along the lesson, and it will obviously reflect our ability to cater for our students’ attention for a period of time. The activities developed in this period of the practicum were intended to promote motivation among the children providing them with creative and real situations to use the language. The objectives, activities and the use of resources were coherent from a pedagogical perspective point of view. Taking into account all these principles that I’ve just mentioned, I would like to add that when I started the practicum I realised that my activities were communicative but children had no opportunities to produce utterances instead of repeating just words. By the end of the period I also learnt that I must perform this in order to help students to produce longer utterances such as “this is my nose” instead of just saying “nose”. I think that one of my weaknesses during my practicum was this one, and I would like to modify it in future situations. TPD -REFLEXION PERSONAL –BARTH MARÍA PÍA for example I would try to make that my friend “Loobster” (a class puppet) can have more interaction with them, as I previously said, in order to create more authentic and real situations to speak. I think that to be effective teachers we must use as many much as resources as we can, we must investigate and get acquainted withto the new pedagogical methodologies, approaches and advances. Conclusion To conclude, I must say that my practicum experienced hasd helped me a lot to be more acquainted with to my career. I could achieve my goals and I also had opportunities to apply my knowledge using different strategies acquired in the course of studies.career. I also consider that I demonstrated that I have ability to be a teacher and a roper classroom manager management. I could say that I’m satisfied with the way I developed this practicum, however, I would like to modify and take advantage of some aspects that I previously mentioned such as my weaknesses and my mistakes in order to do this experience more challenging.
