Canada and Australia are similar countries in terms of how dependent they both are on natural resources as well as being both sparsely populated.
Canada can learned lessons from Australia in terms of dealing with countries like China. Trudeau decided to push his SJW on to China. China has told Canada to not meddle in Chinese domestic issues.
Canada needs a government that is more balance when it comes to Canada’s economic policies.

Taxes on foreign purchases are unlikely to slow Australia's rapid housing price growth as much as in Canada
because the restrictions on foreign purchasers are already greater in Australia and the tax imposts are
smaller, new ANZ research says.
Further, any denting of price growth and confidence from foreign purchase restrictions was found to be
temporary, economists Daniel Wilson and Daniel Gradwell said, citing the experience of Vancouver, where
the imposition of a 15 per cent surcharge on foreign buyer residential purchases in August last year only
dulled the market for four months before prices started rising again.
"Regulation can certainly have an impact on prices, at least in the first instances," Mr Gradwell told The
Australian Financial Review. "But there's still a question mark about the sustainability of those changes."
Australia's housing market, in which separate figures on Tuesday showed Melbourne home values jumped
3.1 per cent and Sydney 1.4 per cent in July, faces similar challenges to Canada, with growing demand for
homes from overseas buyers thought to be one factor pushing prices higher in some premium market
segments.

14. BLOG – AUSTRALIA
AND CANADA
• http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-12-01/australia-at-risk-of-negative-gdp-after-business-investment-
fall/8083250
• Australia and Canada have similarities when it comes to their economy like the following:
• Natural Resources
• Logistic nightmare
• Australia seen their first decline in GDP since 2011. Australia is seeing weak business investment due to
low commodity prices. Canada is also experiencing decrease in business investment as well for 2016.
Business investment is key as it can impact productivity. https://www.nbc.ca/content/dam/bnc/en/rates-
and-analysis/economic-analysis/monthly-economic-monitor.pdf
• Australia is also predicted to grow 2.5% or higher for the next few years as compare to Canada that is
projected to grow at 1.5 to 2.0% range. http://www.gbm.scotiabank.com/English/bns_econ/forecast.pdf.
So, why does Australia appear to be growing faster? Easy! Canada is introducing carbon tax and more
regulation as such will be slow to bring natural resources online as part of the uptick in commodity price
over the next few years. So, where is Trudeau? Oops, Trudeau thinks carbon taxation will grow an
economy, right? http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatoon/australian-carbon-tax-opponent-chris-berg-
saskatchewan-1.3884765. I guess Butts is the genius and the rest of us are too stupid to understand
carbon tax, right? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWarBMfshaA
• The sad thing is we will all be paying for Trudeau’s mistakes over the next decade or so. FYI – Trudeau –
