This analysis looks at the issues facing employment and wages in Canada. Canada has shown a resilient employment market over the past 10+ years with average job creation being 220,000+ per year.
The problem is over the past 3.5 years the federal govt has gone the opposite way when it comes to supporting FDI as they have decided to focus solely on the environment.

• Harper and wage growth “Well, wait a second. Stop tape. Statistics Canada has just released “High-income
trends among Canadian tax filers,” its annual contribution to class warfare in Canada. Turns out things weren’t
as gloomy in 2015 as we all thought or as Justin Trudeau kept saying. From 2014 to 2015, StatsCan tells us, “The
real average income of all tax filers rose 2.6 per cent.” That was the largest yearly increase since 2005–06.

Just how are you going to make Canada more competitive? It is not your small business tax reforms or C69 or hikes
to CPP or carbon tax, right?

Summary
• Government cannot either take full credit for a booming economy or be at fault for economy in recession.
• All levels of government need to focus on economic development. The so called incubation centers should be expanded to
include all colleges and universities
• The government should not be looking at ways to hike taxes, i.e. carbon taxation, small business tax reforms, CPP, etc.
• Immigration needs to be align skills gap.
• The goods sector is being impacted through bad govt policies. Liberals have made Canada less competitive since they took
office November 2015.
• There needs to be rural economic strategy to encourage more people to move to rural areas. The movement of people will
also help solved issues with housing, especially affordability
