• There is pattern with Trudeau that is world does not view
Trudeau as heavyweight, but a lightweight
• Trudeau maybe a fan with citizens of various countries, but not
leadership.
• Trudeau has been called out many times for his nonsensical

OTTAWA – Canada is trying to patch up frayed relations with the Japanese government
after holding out on signing a major Pacific Rim trade deal championed by Prime Minister
Shinzo Abe.
Tensions flared between the two countries after Canada effectively blocked progress on
a deal to salvage the Trans Pacific Partnership, an 11-nation trade deal anchored by
Japan after U.S. President Donald Trump quit the pact. Canada continues to push for
revisions that leave the deal, created in part as a check on China’s economic clout, in
limbo — days before Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau heads to China himself.
Trade Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne said he discussed the issue with Japan’s
ambassador to Canada in a meeting in Ottawa on Tuesday. “We cleared a lot of the
issues and restated we are partners and friends in many things, and have made progress
toward trade in the Asia-Pacific region,” he said in an interview Wednesday. “And I think
this is understood now by both sides.” Japan Times – December 1, 2017
10. CHINA AND TRUDEAU
Source - http://vancouversun.com/opinion/op-ed/opinion-trudeau-learns-hard-lesson-on-
disappointing-trip-to-china
Unfortunately, many believe that the Trudeau government and pertinent Canadian trade negotiators,
simply failed to properly understand some of the attitudes and long-term goals underlying the policies
of the ruling authorities in Beijing, among them President Xi Jinping himself.
It’s thought one key factor in the failure of the talks was that Chinese authorities had no wish to
commit their government to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s much-publicized emphasis on non-trade
issues, including commitment to democracy, the rule of law and the advancement of women’s rights
and their greater participation in society.
Put succinctly, some regard the unexpected breakdown in the trade talks with China as greatly linked
to the Trudeau government’s failure to truly understand what was required to achieve an acceptable
trade deal with Beijing.
That same view also arose following the recent public criticism by former Prime Minister Stephen
Harper that Trudeau had adopted questionable and potentially harmful tactics during the current
renegotiating of the 1997 North American Free Trade Agreement between the United States, Canada
and Mexico.

Canada has become the latest county to use Australia as a guide on how to deal with rampant foreign influence after a
conservative senator said such laws were “essential for Canadian political sovereignty”.
Canadian opposition senator for Ontario Linda Frum has called for Australia’s new laws, which were introduced into
parliament last week, to be urgently reviewed by her country’s parliament.
“It’s essential for Canadian political sovereignty that we examine this very, very closely,” Senator Frum said last week.
“I think we need to look at it and I think we need to look at it urgently.”
She told Canadian radio that the Sam Dastyari case was a sign Australia had let the problem of foreign influence get
out of control.

• In 2014 is when Canada was ranked 24th in the world when it came to sustainability including the
environment. The Liberals took office in 2015 as such the ranking for Canada is now 25 when it comes
to sustainability. So, where are all these improvements to the environment? There are none! All the LPC
did was keep the same policies with one exception that is imposing a carbon tax on all provinces. Yet
carbon taxes have been a failure. Australia yanked the carbon tax as they were too punitive to the
economy and did nothing for global emissions - http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/australia-s-carbon-

G20 countries, or even all the other G20 countries," AFP reported or ““We each share a relationship with a very big neighbor, a neighbor that has to a

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was given a guarded welcome to India as a way of showing "polite
displeasure" over his country's sympathies with Sikh nationalists, an expert has said.
Mr. Trudeau touched down at New Delhi airport over the weekend to be greeted only by a junior agricultural
minister. He is not due to meet Indian premier Narendra Modi until the sixth day of his week-long tour.
His trip to Taj Mahal was also a small-scale family affair – with most attention being paid to the PM sporting
Star Wars footwear in an apparent nod to Mr Modi's favourite film.
By contrast the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was warmly embraced by the Indian leader on the
tarmac moments after he stepped off the plane last month.
