2. Since moving to Europe with her family at the age of
11, Patricia Duff has had the opportunity to live in
several countries and travel around the globe. In
2007, she founded The Common Good, a nonprofit,
nonpartisan organization that encourages
participation in democracy. Throughout her career,
Patricia Duff has also supported charitable groups
such as Save the Children. She served on the board
of Save the Children for six years.
It is the remarkable work in helping mothers and their
families in the poorest regions of the world that
inspired Patricia Duff to support Save the Children.
3. The long time experience of Save the
Children has demonstrated over and over
that helping mothers is the path to helping
these developing societies. Save the
Children has helped bring education, basic
medical care and micro loans to mothers
and their families. Investing in maternal,
newborn, and child health reduces poverty,
stimulates economic growth, and most
importantly, saves lives.
