5. What is it and How does it work
The Bio-Back uses a simple, patented design that combines Counter Force
pressure with a Lumbar Dome. Together these features reduce the strain on the
muscles and other pain sensitive structures in the lower back to relax muscles and
relieve pain allowing users to safely resume their daily activities back pain free.
The patented design feature, Bilateral Opposing Forces, is clinically
proven to reduce the activity and strain on key muscles in the lower back.
Simultaneously the redistribution of pressure enhances core stability.
The patented design feature, Lumbar Dome creates an immediate
correction in posture promoting proper body mechanics and helping to reduce and
prevent back pain.
The Bio Back’s support results in reduction of lower back pain and improved
mechanics. The low profile design makes it comfortable to wear while doing
everyday activities.

6. What is it and How does it work
Needle Electromyelography (EMG) studies were
performed to evaluate the Bio-Back’s clinical
efficacies. Subjects standing in an anatomically
Neutral position, demonstrated that use of the Bio-Back reduced
the activity, of the Longissimus at L4 by an average of 52% and
the Multifidus at L4 by an average of 37%, when compared to
no orthosis. Overall, this would indicate that
the employment of the Bio-Back orthosis
reduced key endurance muscle activity by
approximately 46% overall.

8. Fitting, Adjustment and Wearing
There are no standards for when to wear a back brace and for how long a
back brace should be worn. The length of time the Bio-Back is worn should
commensurate with the duration of pain and discomfort or for the duration of
activities that normally cause back pain. The basic instructions are as
follows:
If you are in back pain or discomfort, wear the Bio-Back for pain relief
If you are going to do an activity that normally causes back pain or
discomfort, wear the Bio-Back during the activity to help prevent back
pain
The Bio-Back can be worn at night during sleep
The Bio-Back can be worn sitting, standing, bending or for any activity
The Bio-Back should be worn as tight as possible but not
uncomfortable.

9. Fitting, Adjustment and Wearing
For your convenience, we have provided your Bio-Back pre-assembled. It may fit properly right out of the
package or the straps may need adjusted to ensure a firm, supporting fit. For the best support and most
comfortable fit please review these instructions.
Step 1: Center the back panel (Lumbar Dome) in the small
of your back.
Step 2: Center the front panel over your stomach and
thread the end of the forward through the inner slot.

Step 3: Then thread the strap back through the outermost
slot of the same panel.
Step 4: Grasp the end of each strap, suck in your stomach
and pull the straps towards the back equally and

11. Adjustment Instructions
THE BIO-BACK DOES NOT REQUIRE PROFESSIONAL FITTING.
Please use the strap adjustment chart to determine the proper strap length.
To make the Bio-Back Smaller:
The straps attached to the back panel are secured with a Velcro holding piece. This
can be removed completely to allow the strap to be cut shorter for smaller waist sizes.
(See the enclosed Waist Size to Strap Length Adjustment Chart).
Remove the Velcro holding piece and cut each strap equally to the desired length.
Replace the Velcro holding piece and reattach the straps.
To make the Bio-Back Larger:
Detach the strap where it is connected to the back panel and pull the strap away from
the back panel to make it larger. Reattach the strap and repeat this step on the other
side.
