8. Vesuvius is an extinct volcano in Italy. It's very famous because there was
a terrible eruption in 79 A.D.
One afternoon the people from Pompeii heard a loud noise, when they
looked up they saw a cloud of ash. People ran but they couldn't breath.
Thousands of people died.
Pompeii was lost for 1,500 years. One day two persons found the ruins of
Pompeii, they found streets, shops and fine houses.
Lots of tourists visit the ruins of Pompeii every year.
