2. HIS LIFE
He was an American pop art painter, graphic artist and sculptor,
best known for his interpretations of large-scale comic book art.
His early works were abstract expressionist style, but after 1958
began experimenting with images taken from comic books.
From 1961 he devoted himself completely to
produce images of art through commercial
mass production.
A prolific author, during his last years achieved greater presence at museums
all around the world
