How to navigate to User Role Settings?
Go to the “Setting” (Hover on Profile), under “Company Settings” you can
find User Role Settings option.
Click on “User Role Settings” you will be navigated to User Role
Management section.

How to create a New User Role Group?
Click on “User Role Settings” from the “Setting”, under Company settings.
Hover on the orange color “+” button & Click on the option to
“Create New Role Group”.

On the New Role Group pop-up, you can mention your User Role Group
like: CEO, Project Managers, Team Leads, HR, Finance etc. and the short
name for the Group. Click on create to define your New User Role Group.
Once you create the group, you can see the groups as shown in the
screenshot below:

How can I create a New Role?
Navigate to User Role Management page, and create a New User Role
Group.
Hover on the “+” icon & click on “Create New Role” button

On the Create New Role Page pop-up, define which “User Role” you want
to assign to a user like: Developer, Tester, Analysist, Graphic Designer,
Project Manager etc.
Short Name: Provide a short name for the User Role
Role Group: Select the Role Group for the User which will be a given a new
role in Orangescrum
Users: Select the user(s) for the new Role to be added in the New Role
under a role Group.
Modules: These are the features available in the Orangescrum. You need to
define here which feature (like Tasks, projects, Gantt chart, Time Log, etc..)
you want to give access and control to the user. (For Developers only)
Click on Create to successfully create the new User Role (like Tester in the
below screenshot) in Orangescrum.

Can I add specific actions/features to a group/user role?
Navigate to User Role Management, Select the User Role Group
Select the User Role
Click on Edit
Or create a New Role by clicking on the + sign
On the New User Role/Edit User Role pop-up, you can add/remove modules
Click on Update/Create to save/create user role

Click on the User Role
Click on the Module
Select one action
Ex: For Task, you will have option Create Task, Edit Task, Reply Task, Delete
Task, etc. with Yes & No option. If you select Yes, then the user can edit,
reply, delete & create task otherwise s/he won’t able to do these actions.
At any time, you can edit/remove any action for a user role.
Can I give specific permission to a user?
To give specific permission you need to create a user role
In the user role, you can add modules & users
Under the modules, you can select specific action for a user role
That user can perform only that action as defined in the user role
Can a user only view tasks?
Go to User Role Management page
Create User Role Group
Create a new user role

Add modules to the existing user roles
Add users & Task module in that user role
Click on Tasks
Select No check for the edit, reply, create, delete options for that user
Click on Save Changes to save the changes made for the user role actions
I don’t want a user to edit time log, can I do that?
Go to the User Role Management page
Create a new user role or add module time log to the existing user role
Click on Time Log
Select No option for the Edit Time Log action
Note: If you purchased the add-on, it will show the Time log module
I don’t want to a user to time entry, can the user only log time
through timer?
Go to the User Role Management page
Create a new user role or add module time log to the existing user role
Click on Time Log
Select No option for the Time Log Entry action
Note: If you purchased the add-on, it will show the Time log module
How many groups I can create in Orangescrum?
The owner has only access to the user role management feature. Owner can
create as many as User Role Groups and User Roles.

Can I edit a User role?
You can edit a user role at any time. Navigate to User Role Setting, then
find the Role Group and click on it
Select the User Role and click on the Edit icon (right side of the button) to
edit your User Role
You can edit the Role, Short Name, Role Group, User & Module
Click on Update to save the changes made to the User Role

Can I add more user to existing user role?
You can add user to a user role if that user is already active in Orangescrum
Navigate to User Role Setting, Select & click on the User Role under the
Role Group.
Click on Edit icon
On the Edit Role pop up, navigate to the User field and add any other user
(type the user name, it will suggest!) to the existing user role
Click on Update to save the changes made or click on Cancel to cancel the
changes

Can I delete the user role?
You can delete a user role. Navigate to User Role Setting
Select the User Role Group
Select the User Role
Click on Delete icon to delete the user role

Can I know who is in a user role?
Navigate to User Role Setting
Select User Role Group
Select the User Role
Hover on the Users icon to know which users are in that user role
You can click on Edit User Role to know which users are in that user role

Can I add/remove modules to the user role?
If you have added few modules (features) in the user role and want to add
more, then you can do the same from the Edit User Role page.
Navigate to the User Role Management Page
Select User Role Group
Select User Role
Click on Edit User Role

Click on Update to save the changes or cancel it to dismiss the changes
Who can see the User Role Setting and who can define the role?
The owner of the Orangescrum account can only see the User Role Setting. Once
the owner defined the role & access of the user, s/he can access his/her
Orangescrum account accordingly.
How to edit a Role Group?
Navigate to the User Role Management page from the Setting
Select the User Role Group
Click on the Edit icon to edit the User Role Group

You can edit the Role Group Name & Short Name on the User Role Group
page
Click on Update to save the changes or click on Cancel to dismiss all the
changes made
How to delete a Role Group?
Navigate to the User Role Management page

Select the User Role Group
Click on the remove icon (X) to delete the User Role Group
Once you click on the remove icon, it will show two options:
1. Delete Role Group Only: It will delete the Group, but the role of the
users will be remaining same.
2. Delete Role Group with Roles: It will delete the Group as well as the
roles of users

How will I assign role to member for a particular project?
With Orangescrum now you can directly assign role to the members from the
project listing page. For this you need to follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the project page.

2. Click on the blue arrow button on the left side of the name of the project.
3. Click on the Assign Role from the dropdown

4. Click on Assign Role pop up; Assign the required role to the user.
5. Click on Add to save.
Note: You can define the access of the user from the Action. Click on View under
Action to view the modules/features of Orangescrum to define the access for that
user.

Select Yes or No to update the action of a user in Orangescrum.
How will I add a new user with a user role to the project?
You can add new user to project by inviting them to join. You can do this by
following these steps:-
1. Click on the +New icon on top right of your screen. You can also click on
+ icon in orange circle.

3. You need to enter the email id of the new user, enter the name of the
project you want assign and finally select the role to be assigned in the
project.
4. Click on Add.

5. Finally user will be invited for the assigned project. An invitation will be
sent to the mail id new user.
6. The user has to check his/her mail of invitation and Click on Join Link.
7. Once the user clicked on the link; s/he will be redirected to create
his/her own account.
8. The user can only access the modules you have assigned to that User
Role.
Can we add multiple users in invitation?
You can invite multiple users with their mail ids separated by commas. You can
follow these steps below
1. Click on the +New icon on top right of your screen. You can also click on
+ icon in orange circle.

3. Click on Add.
4. Finally users will be invited for the assigned project. An invitation will be
sent to the mail id of new users.
5. The users have to check his mail of invitation and Click on Join Link.

Can we assign multiple roles to the multiple users at once during
user invite?
No, you cannot assign multiple roles to the multiple users at once but we can
assign same role to multiple users at once.
Can we invite users to multiple projects?
Yes, you can do so but the same role will be assigned to the users. We can do this
in following ways
1. Click on the +New icon on top right of your screen. You can also click on
+ icon in orange circle.
2. Click on the user option.

Can I manage accessibility of any user?
Yes, you can manage accessibility of user by editing his accessibility permission in
user role management. You can do so by following these steps.
1. Go to settings, you can find user role management option under
company setting.

2. You can click on the role group and expand.
3. Now you can manage the user accessibilities by checking and
unchecking the permission of the modules.
4. Click on save changes.
