Newly hatched Atlantic salmon feed off their yolk sacs and hunt small flies, then grow larger to hunt bigger prey as they develop. They migrate to feed plentifully in western Greenland oceans for 1 to 4 years before returning to their home stream to reproduce, using their tail and fins to maneuver like other fish.
