DEMOCRACY DEVELOPMENT IN UKRAINE
THIS IS OUR COUNTERACTION to AGGRESSION
BUILDING A FUTURE WHICH WE WANT TO LIVE
IN
BY HELPING OTHERS WE DO NOT BECOME
SPECIAL. WE REMAIN NORMAL

independence
WHY WE DO IT
Our values
- Families from Crimea and Donbas had to leave their
homes due to military aggression
- We are working to educate a new generation of

We already have results.
The first group of children
confidently covers 25
meters in a large pool
Learning to swim
together:
Learning about Ukraine,
folk’s traditions and
yachting
Traveling the country,
studying different regions
and towns
Telling the meaning behind
patterns on traditional Ukrainian
shirts (“vychyvanka”) from
different regions
Yachting is primarily hard work
and learning to help each other
Why we do workshops and field trips
excursion
workshops
Through field trips and workshops children learn to enjoy new experiences
and activities. When learning new things, children the standards of tolerant
and non-aggressive behavior, patient attitude towards those who differ
from them
Festival feeling
New impressions
and experiences
Communicating with
other people and
spending time with the
family outside of the
standard setting
Educated child
Love of Ukrainian
culture and
knowledge of your
native land
Tolerance to the
opinions and
experiences of
others
What we exprience What we get
The most valuable result – learning to
understand each other
Learn to cooperate from childhood
Coaches and instructors of
“Kraplunki" introduce children
to group activities. Through this
they learn to work and create
together
A simple game helps to teach
child to be polite
Findings and results
• Taking together children from different locations contributed
to the development of the community and the club
“Kraplynka”
• The "Cossack Games" at Mezhyhirya in the summer made it
possible to study Ukrainian traditions and diversify the
activities:
- creative activities;
- outdoor physical activities;
- learning Ukrainian history, costumes, involve children into
productive work
• Yachting served as new activity and made it possible to bring together
all the children from Mezhygirya , Vyshgorod and Dymer that
Kraplznka works
• Cooperation with different NGOs allowed to create larger scale
projects with significant potential
Why do Internally Displaced People need
further support?
Ukraine has 227 000 children-IDPs
Kyiv oblast is 4th region in Ukraine by the number of IDPs
State financial support for children is provided to IDPs only for a
period on 6 month and amounts to EUR 35 per month.
45% IDPs report that state financial support is only sufficient to
buy food
For 59% of IDPs social assistance is the main source of income
Kraplynka’s activities help
children overcome being
victims and grow up being
responsible members of the
democratic society
• To continue developing and holding classes for children in
Mykolayiv, Dymer and Kyiv
• Conduct "Cossack Games“ in the summer again
• To train teachers in Mykolayiv, Kyiv, Dymer and Vyshgorod.
• Start a new project with children with cancer in Mykolayiv
(monthly holidays for the little patients)
• Encourage the parents to be more involved in “Kraplynka”
activities and projects
Our plans
