The One Stop at Miami University provides front facing customer service for students regarding billing, payments, financial assistance, registration, and academic records. It is located in the Campus Avenue Building and assists students in person, by phone, and email. Students can grant access to others like parents to view financial and academic records by submitting a FERPA authorization. The One Stop notifies students by email when bills are available and of additional fees and helps with payment options including payment plans, 529 plans, loans, and refunds through direct deposit sign up.

questions related to billing and payment options, financial assistance and
registration. We also provide support to our Military Affiliated Families.
We are conveniently located on the corner of Campus Avenue and Spring Street
in a building most students refer to as āCABā.
Much of the information provided in this presentation is available on our website
at MiamiOH.edu/OneStop.
These services are provided to students in-person, over the phone, or via email.
However, we are also able to discuss these topics with anyone who has been

6. Family Educational Rights & Privacy
Act (FERPA)
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act or FERPA is a federal law that
protects the privacy of student education records, both financial and academic.
Students can grant access to others to view their financial and academic records.
Without this access we will not be able to discuss information regarding the
studentās bill, balance or payment, class schedule, grades, financial aid or
housing and meal plans.
The student only has to give authorization once, they can remove authorization at
any time, and they can limit what access they want available.
For more information on FERPA, please visit our website
MiamiOH.edu/FERPA.
7. Granting Access
Students are able to grant
access to anyone, parents,
family members, guardians,
or even a friend.
To grant or request access,
go directly to
MiamiOH.edu/FERPA.
8. Billing Notifications
Students will be sent a notice to their MiamiOH.edu email
address when the bill is available.
ā¢ Fall semester bills will be available mid-July*.
ā¢ Fall semester bills are due mid-August*.
If the student has authorized other individuals to view their
billing information, those individuals will also be copied on
billing notification emails.
Throughout the course of the semester, there may be
additional fees that accrue on a studentās account. These
fees can include Student Health Service charges, library
fines, parking fines. Students will be notified of these
additional charges through monthly email notifications. *subject to change
9. Payment Options
There are many different forms of payments that we accept. We are pleased to offer secure online
service to pay your bill. Our secure online service accepts payments by eCheck (electronic check)
and credit cards. If you pay with a credit card, you will be charged a convenience fee.
Interest free payment plans are available through Nelnet Campus Solutions to allow families to
budget each semesterās bill over a period of three or four consecutive months. Families incur a
nominal enrollment fee and there are no interest charges. Enrollment does not require a credit
check.
Payment plans can be made for fall and spring semesters.
If the studentās account balance changes, please be sure to contact Nelnet. If you make a payment
with the University, you will need to contact Nelnet directly or visit their website to adjust the
payment plan balance. For more information and instructions please visit

12. RedHawk Refunds (Direct Deposit)
What is RedHawk Refunds?
RedHawk Refunds is a FREE service to
receive refunds from financial aid,
students accounts and other funds
owed by Miami.
Benefits:
Enroll at
MiamiOH.edu/RedHawkRefunds
Automatically deposited
Deposited into any bank account
We highly encourage students to sign up for direct deposit
through RedHawk Refunds ā this will be the most efficient way
for students to receive a refund of any credit balance and
reduces questions on correct mailing addresses.
If you choose RedHawk Refunds, you can specify a bank account
(savings or checking) where we can direct deposit the funds.
If the student wants the credit to go directly to the parent or
guardianās account they can use the parentās account
information to set up RedHawk Refunds.
Parents who have Parent Plus loans are unable to sign up for
direct deposit to receive credits from the loanās disbursement.
They can, however, indicate on their Plus application they would
like the refund sent to the student. If this option is checked, the
student will receive the refund deposited in the account that
the student specified.
13. How Do I Know if I have a Refund?
If a refund is owed to a student,
āTotal Amount Dueā will be
shown in parenthesis on the
student account statement
summary.
