The Client is a software development firm specialized in Computerized Maintenance
Management (CMMS) and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software solutions. A
comprehensive, simple, and intuitive maintenance management and execution software
solution developed by the client is now being used by more than 100 clients throughout
300 sites in the world. The Client is a comprehensive provider of turn-key solutions in
the world of Asset Management.

Business challenges of the client:
The Client specialized in the equipment management and maintenance process
management and needed to refine their existing product to retain its market share. The
Client faced a host of challenges in enhancing the existing product. The project involved
many challenges like
• An un-constructed and incomplete test plan.
• Previous versions incompatible with MS SQL 2000 & MS SQL 2005 version
• Internationalization support was not scalable to support more languages
• Time consuming reports programmed in older version of Crystal Report
• Backlog of bugs from previous tests process and clients comment
• Installation Scripts in older versions
Project Scope:
Solution requires existing product maintenance, QA Testing / defect fixing, Database
and Crystal reports migration, Internationalization Support.
OFS Solution:
OFS’ team of consultants and technical experts leveraged its rich expertise in migrating
the Client’s product version 2006 to version 2007 with enriched functionalities and with
efficient operating conditions. The initial phase entailed the following activities:
• The enhanced product was compatible with Sybase SQL Anywhere, MS SQL 2000
and MS SQL 2005 database
• Support for the international languages (Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch and
German) in the PlannExpert and tested for language navigation
• Upgraded the report and the engine in the product to Crystal Report 11.0
• A reengineered test management

2. • Bugs in the earlier version were fixed and tested.
• New version of Installation Scripts with integration of enhancements from the
2004 scripts was prepared.
