1. ABC’s of Diabetes.
A- is for A1c
It provides the big picture of a person’s overall blood glucose levels over the last 2-3
months. (A1c should be below 6-7%)
B- is for blood pressure
High blood pressure makes your heart work harder than it should.
C - is for cholesterol
LDL cholesterol clogs blood vessels. They become narrow or blocked, which can lead to
chest pains, heart attack, etc.
HDL cholesterol helps remove cholesterol deposits from blood vessels.
Triglycerides- another kind of blood fat that can increase the risk of heart disease.
