2.  The constitution of 1962 was enforced on June 8,1962
following were its important clauses:
Written form;
The constitution of the second republic
was a comprehensive document comprising of 250
sections and 3 schedules.It was also written.
2. Name of the country;
The constitution of 1956 declared
“the republic of Pakistan” as a country name. however,
owing to the public reaction later on ,the full name of
the country is “The Islamic republic of Pakistan”.

3.Preamble;
The objective resolution was included as a
Preamble in the constitution.
4. Form Of Government;
instead of federal system,
Presidential form of government was introduced for
the first time in the 1962 constitution which meant
extensive power for the president.
5.Uni cameral parliament;
like 1956 constitution its is also
adopted single house parliament called the National
Assembly. The senate did not exit under the new
constitution.

6. Minority Rights;
In 1962 constitution an adequate provision was
be made for the minorities enabling them to observe
their rights/religious rites and promote their culture
without restriction.
7. The national Language ;
In 1962 constitution Urdu and Bengali were
recognized as the two national language of Pakistan.
8.Elimination of non Islamic
practices;
All those practices which were contrary to the shariah
would be eliminated from the society such as gambling,
intoxication, adultery, interest etc.

5. Name of the country;
the name of the country will be Islamic Republic of
Pakistan.
 Islamic advisory council;
An Islamic advisory council consisting of 12
person shall be setup.
 Council’s tenure three years;
the Islamic Advisory council shall be setup for
three years.

Remoulding of the president laws;
An Islamic Advisory Council shall give a
suggestion to mould. The laws in accordance with the
Islamic Principles.
