2. What is Sportsmanship?
Sportsmanship is showing fair and kind play during a sports
event. Sportsmanship is looked upon by fans and the youth.
Sportsmanship can be shown in multiple ways by showing it
towards the fans, teammates and opposing teams.
3. Ethics in owners and coaches
When coaching or owning a team, you are looked at and reflected
based of the characteristics that your players show. If your a coach
your job only isnt to make sure you make your players better, but to
make sure they are respectable. In pro sports Gregg Popovich is a very
respectable coach and his teams are always great even those the
talent may not be. The coach is responsible for his players and a team
like the pittsburgh steelers is looked at as a dirty team because there
coach in his career has done things he shouldn't have which gives him
a bad reputation now
4. Ethics in Health and safety
With new technology, health and safety precautions
have been coming out even more now. In the NFL
the concussion protocol is very extreme and in all
sports PEDs are extremely banned and you could
potentially never play again if caught. The health of
these athletes are concurring because of players
getting things like CTE. There is so many testinga and
regulations nowadays and making sports safer.
5. Ethics in athletes and community
Athletes have such powerful voices and they are truely
inspiring people to fans. Most athletes give back to the
communities that they grew up in and are always helping
out. As Lebron James said that he will not shut up and
dribble makes him more than just a basketball player, but
an inspiration to fans and even people that can care less
what they do during their sport.
6. Ethics in fan behavior
Fans are a big part of sports and are encouraged to
cheer on their favorite team. Sometimes those, fans go
over the line and are offensive to everyone around them
and the organizations. These fan are suppose to be
supporting their team no matter what. When fans say
racist or offensive remarks to these athletes it reflects
bad on the fans. When the fans are respectable, it shows
what type of team and city those fans have.
7. Future of sports
The future of sports is extremely bright. As we can already see now, humans who
are pro athletes are more athletic, stronger, faster, anything you could ever think
of. These players are also a huge part of society across the globe as they influence
so many people. Thanks to technology and social media you can see every day the
second it happens what happens in a sport. Even now for athletes playing at the
next level it is easier for them to because of technology. Players are also a lot
safer now with society and its always getting better.
9. High School Sportsmanship
In high school student athletes are always busy. As a kid who is ages 14-18
seeing themself in the paper and having constant pressure on you to do good
because of the fans. In highschool having respect for the other team is
important because they have the same pressure you do and you dont know
what they have going on in their life.
