Illegal dumping in Camden costs the city over $4 million annually, but a new project will bring together residents and artists to address this issue creatively and build a brighter future. 48 Blocks highlights art, artists, and communities throughout Atlantic City's 48 city blocks through various live performances, art projects, and community events to foster placemaking.

March 2018 study – National Academy of Sciences notes benefits of
treating vacant spaces:
• Significantly reduced perception of crime (36.8%)
• Less safety concerns when venturing outside of home (57.8%)
• Increased use of outside spaces for relaxing and socializing (75.7%)
