adult with program like Planet Earth 2 and the Victorian slum
• No adverts so wouldn’t get at much funding for the new documentary which therefore would make it hard
to be able to produce due to the money this costs
3. • This channel was closer to target audience with programs like dance moms however it was still focused
mainly towards an older audience with NCIS and Police Interceptors therefore not appropriate for the
documentary we are creating
4. • Again, this channel was still focused towards an older audience with programs featured including
midsomer murders and the news at 10 which it instantly put off most younger adults and teens
5. • Has a more laid back target audience aimed primarily towards 16 - early 20s due to shows with more
mature content however not enough to please an older audience
• Additionally, this channel has adverts within and between shows so will provide sponsors and therefore
funding for the new documentary
• Furthermore, there is previous examples such as the documentary Educating Joey Essex which shows that
other documentaries aimed towards the same audience as ours are successful on this channel
6. After looking into all the different channels we decided that we would use itv2 to broadcast our
documentary as we feel this was the most suited to our selected target audience and additionally, had
adverts which also provided some funding and a chance to be sponsored to make money for the new
documentary.
