State Blvd
Fort Wayne, IN 46808
Dear Mr. Linn
After contacting Mark Mellinger, he told me that if I was I interested in interning at WANE TV in the summer of 2010 that I contact you. I am interested in working in the newsroom and help out with all the different production aspects. Hopefully as you look through my resume you will find that I have a variety of experiences working on the production aspect. Hopefully I will be selected for an interview so that I can show you exactly what I can bring as an intern. The reason why I would be such a good fit for your organization is because of my experiences I have outside the classroom and the real life scenarios I have been through.
As you look through my resume there is a lot of information on there, but one of my best attributes is my work with Sports Link. Sports Link is the only program like it in the country. I am one of sixteen students selected to do this immersive learning project within the telecommunications department at Ball State University. You might be asking yourself what makes immersive learning so unique? It allows me to be apart of real life scenarios something that classrooms could never teach. Some goals I have accomplished thus far with Sports Link, been apart of a live remote running a handheld camera as well as setting up and running the audio part of the broadcast.
I have worked in the newsroom setting since I was a sophomore in high school. So I now the in and the outs of how broadcasts are set up and run. I know how to effectively use Final Cut Pro, which hopefully can be an asset for you.
I know that to work in this field it is very competitive. I think I have the drive and the desire as an intern to aid every broadcast that I am apart of. I think WANE TV is a great start for someone like me because it is a great city and a great market to work in.
