9. NEXT STEPS
• Do you like this meeting format?
• These meetings are termly – would you prefer more meetings? Or maybe a termly
meeting along side a rolling programme of drop-in sessions on different resources?
• To include as many staff as possible we will run these meetings on different days of the
week.
• Ideas for hands-on sessions – Libguides (for those staff who need it), Mindview (good
for producing flowcharts), Canva (for creating images), how to make a simple
screencast. Have a look at the Resource tab on the Learning Lab guide.
• Could we have a volunteer to send out a poll (maybe just a simple Doodle poll) to ask
what resource staff would like to try at the next meeting?
Editor's Notes
Show a few examples of the types of things that we can produce, or are already available on the Learning Lab, to help staff:
Job aides – flow charts, crib sheets
Show Customer Services tab – video, slideshare, padlet for comments, quiz
Library Help – info graphic, tips and advice on good practice
Finding Academic Info – example of using poll function on a Lib guide to ask a question (creating a search strategy) and example of a screencast to show and explain something.
G drive project – background information on a project with information about how decisions were made
Today we’re going to look at how to make some fun activities for staff using Playbuzz. Playbuzz is an example of a free resource that is easy to use and you can produce some nice results very quickly.
Here are two examples of what you can do using Playbuzz - The poll asking for most difficult CS procedure and Flip the Slip
Sarah – quick demo
Need to show staff where the images are kept (and where they can save images) before they have a play.
