3. Analysis of the Lyrics
Conceptual? Narrative? Performance?
Reading the Lyrics, it tells me that the artist is boasting about the
money they have and only have love for that money and nothing else.
This video can be a narrative but mostly performance because looking
at the lyrics she’s not explaining why ‘nothing is promised’ because you
can pick out some stuff to like ‘swimming in money’ ‘weed’ and which
tells us the artist is rich and showing off. There are some parts of the
song, where they add up together to make a narrative.
“Can't nobody stop me, I'm past niggas - I'm past my limit’” Which
means she is doing something that is more than what males do and as
a female its rare or restricted.
“I'm back on the green, it's so hard not to use it” This shows that she
could be talking about cannabis because she is a drug dealer and she
wants to smoke her goods but she has to sell it or it could just be her
money and she wants to spend it but doesn’t.
“I'm continuously winnin', my nigga, I can't see me losin‘” This means
that she’s in compettition with someone. Which makes me think that
the narrative could be about her trying to get to the top of something.

4. Summary of the story
The story is about a girl who sells drug on
the streets and then decides to be the
biggest drug dealer in her town. Through the
story is explains what the girl had to do to
get to the top and be rich like kill people,
steal from people and betray the people
who wanted to be rich like her.
From time to time in the music video, the
artist would be singing to the audience with
dancers around her.

different from others?
The storyline is not unique but the fact that a female is
playing the role of drug dealer and being violent, which is a
stereotype of a man’s job makes it different. In real music
videos you wouldn’t see a lot of music videos with females
doing violent and illegal actions to be rich.
